I wanted something for our exterior cabin porch that had brown tones. This was a smash! It's very solid, sturdy, heavy-weight, etc. Even came with an Energizer battery. I have several of their products. All quality. You can't go wrong.

I bought the clock AND the thermometer. First the hand on the thermometer got loose and couldn't be fixed so I returned it and got another one. Now the screw that holds the clock hands in place appears to have fallen off so the minute hand is loose. I am returning it and ordering another with the hopes that it will work. Looks great and the clock is metal but the clock mechanism itself is cheap.

It’s got good weight and structure. Had a slightly hard time inserting battery and starting it. The time piece is “Made in C...” cheap thing. But started eventually and has been running fine. I slapped the timer box a few times and it started. It’s a beautiful piece but the time was hard to read...especially in low light. I followed the advice of several other reviewers...sharpies! Ordered metallic sharpies from Amazon...3 for a little over 3 bucks. I only wanted gold but got bronze and silver too. Glad I did! I used all 3 and used my creativity. Colored the hands silver to make them lighter and more visible. Check the picture for ideas. Been running accurate so far. But only been 2 days.

Love the way it looks. Unfortunately, it only worked for two months. It was stored for the winter and when I took it out this summer and put in a new battery---NOTHING. I thought that spending a bit more would have bought me a good, lasting product. It didn't. So now it is an ornament, but not a clock.

This is a very sturdy, heavy aluminum clock that I bought in 2015. On the advice of other reviewers I bought the gold paint Sharpie and painted the hands to make them stand out better against the background, and I do recommend doing that. This clock has hung outside in the Caribbean sun at the beach 24/7 since then, with only a couple battery changes necessary. It still looks new. I took it inside for hurricane Maria, and while inserting a new battery before rehanging, one of the metal posts that contacts the battery broke. I jerry rigged it for a while but now it doesn't work. I contacted the manufacturer / seller to ask what size replacement clock mechanism I should buy (they sell them here on Amazon) and they emailed back right away to say they would just send me a new one! Great! You don't get customer service like that very often, so I felt the need to write a review on my 3 yr old purchase. I highly recommend this clock and this American company. Thanks Whitehall!

UPDATE 3/2018. When first reviewed, I gave this product four stars. (You can read below to see why.) I am currently updating my review to FIVE stars just due to the fantastic customer service I received from WhitehalI. I originally purchase this product over two years ago and the clock mechanism finally gave out on me. When I called them at (800)728-2164, They immediately told me they be shipping me an new part at NO COST, not even shipping. I am over the moon because this continues to be such a beautiful piece on my patio. Once a year I clean them, dry them an reapply the Sharpie gold pen paint and they look totally new.Original Post: I really love the beauty and weight of this clock. It's a solid piece that will withstand. I gave it only four stars because I had to modify it a bit to be used from all angles in the sun. On the advice of another reviewer, I painted the the upraised numerals with Sharpie PAINT pen in gold. It now looks even more like the one pictured and I've included pictures of my own. The first is unpainted...the last of of the finished product.

I bought both the clock and the thermometer. Both are heavy weight and solid. Looks good and am glad I bought them.But, both are difficult to see because the raised letters are the same color as the background. Picture is misleading.I am not very artsy craftsy but I bought a Sharpie Metallic Gold Paint Marker (not the ink) and painted over the numbers. Because they are raised it is very easy and took less than 10 minutes for each one. Now they both look great (they actually look like the picture) and you can actually tell the time/temp.
