For the price point, so long as you aren’t looking for anything they aren’t trying to be, these are pretty great. That said, size 7 is right at 37.5 for both Merrell and NB shoes, at least the barefoot running/trail shoes (minimus, vapor glove etc) similar to them. It will be snug, too, even if that is your size, but that is by design. They fit like socks. That said, I could wear thin socks under them even though I wouldn’t plan to with this. I do have “slightly narrow end of normal” feet, though. These wouldn’t, unless they sell wide ones, suit wide feet. They are snug on the feet of this 115lb scrawny-boned human. Sizing up wouldn’t hurt. The difference between 7&8 is not only negligible but probably all over the place because quality control isn’t terribly strict (not my first encounter with the brand though it is the first we’ve kept-they were a gift I almost wanted to keep though I am more of a buy what will last and can be repaired sort when possible; the price point, though, makes me understand why they are selling so many of basically all their shoes on here). If you want a shoe for a beach or similar vacation that won’t make you too sad if they break or one swims away at a water park or something and you never see it again or (why we got it) you are looking for house shoes that enclose or swimming pool shoes (not decided yet on what function these will serve), this is a solid choice. I wouldn’t necessarily buy them to trust on a long walking kind of vacation/going places by foot—I would worry the loose threads and flimsy stitching inside of them would give way, and the last thing I want is to think about how delicately I need to put my shoes in and take them off. Still, they are comfortable so far and the price is solid. They arrived vacuum sealed with their tops facing each other so they were spotless on arrival. You won’t be getting a box or sales pitch, just a pair of inexpensive shoes from some factory in China. I personally don’t love our “disposable” economy, but there are some items (like shoes you wear to swimming pools that anyone could run off with) that just aren’t worth investing in top dollar products for unless, you know, you have your own attendant (in which case … why are you reading a review of shoes that cost less than the honor of hearing you breathe, your highness? :) )

At 320g (11.3oz) weight for a pair of M8/W10, these are some of the lightest closed shoes I have come across. I usually got for W10.5 or EU41 and these fit without too much toe space. I have been finding the water shoes generally too big. The 28g of insoles are removable leaving 292g of shoes with a fair bit more ground feel and fit a little larger. The fabric is a thin neoprene with some thickness (2mm?) and toughness to it and it feels like it would make a reasonable camp shoe for backpacking. They're narrow and I tend to believe I have narrow, or at least commonly girly feet. The shoes are a little tight across the ball of my foot and my little toe presses over the side whenever I step down. Without the insoles, they're a little loose around my foot.I like that the cord locks are around the back so that if I do anything low the cord lock isn't pressing into the top of my foot. The cord lock doesn't grip all that well to the cord. The seam on this style doesn't bother my bare foot as much as it did on another style where it sat higher. The bottoms are sticky and a little stiffer than expected. They don't roll up easily with the insole, but without is fine. Water goes through the uppers easily, but not the soles.

I began wearing these so-called 'water shoes' a few years back. They are a lightweight, relatively cheap alternative to pricey sneakers, and are easier to slip on & off.I do not so a lot of wading around in streams--in fact, this sort of thing only sees water when I go to the coast.Generally, I use these for walking the dog or around-the-house wear.I have gone through a few pairs over time. These are a new design to me--a thicker sole (but still lightweight) ....The ubiquitous drawstring/cinch is at THE BACK, not in the front.I like it! ( Frankly, it always annoyed me to have that stubby, plastic cinch knob poking out, upright from my shoes.)The rest of the shoes are good as well; breathable mesh uppers that are a nice, plain black. No odd design or logo.I can wear these for local trips to the store.Great, lightweight shoes!

I use these for my water aerobics class. The sole does not readily slip on some slick bottom floor marker tiles at the YMCA pool. They are snug and proper. I have owned several other brands, and the sole, again, is anti-slip for me, even in the locker room. Would purchase again. The only problem I have is the tightening thing-y at the heal. It's hard to grab the cord to tighten. So i just leave it tight, and wrestle my foot in. They do not hold water or move/shift while in the pool. That's a big plus for me - because I go all out!
