My husband has trouble getting his work boots on as he's gotten older, these boot hooks have been a life saver for his back. The just hook right on and he just pulls them up effortlessly. They are well made and are no frills. They just get the job done.

FABULOUS!!! Hardly ever wore my boots, because they were just too hard to put on. THESE MADE MY BOOTS SLIP ON LIKE SATIN!!! Wish I had bought this years ago!

I got this product because my significant other could not get her sneakers on after a hip replacement operation. Now she can cope but she has another hip replacement soon and these boot hooks engage with loops on the back of her sneakers and will enable to be a little more independent post-op. I also tried them with some of my own boots, including Doc Martens and steel-toed work boots, and they work fine.The boot hooks are made of quarter-inch (actually 1/65" thicker than quarter inch) shiny bar steel, which might be stainless. The hook was fabricated by flattening, bending and machining the steel. The handle is made of nicely turned and polished hardwood, with a rivet to secure the shank. My impression is that the product is over-engineered for its role, and it feels good in the hand. It's not made in China, it is from the UK, the first thing I've had from Amazon in a while that is not of Chinese origin, and I wish I could give it a sixth star for that reason alone.
