I picked up this wire stripping drill attachment to help with some home electrical projects and it’s made a big difference. It’s way faster and easier than using a manual wire stripper, and it really saves your hands from getting tired after a lot of work. I like that it fits easily into my drill and works with common wire sizes like 6, 8, 10, 12, and 14 AWG. The stripping length is adjustable, which is super helpful when working on different types of connections. It’s also small and easy to carry, so I can just keep it in my tool belt or pocket when I’m on the move. The build quality feels solid too, made from aluminum alloy, so I’m not worried about it wearing down anytime soon. Functions great and helps make wire stripping fast. Comes in a nice toolbox as well. For how much time and effort it saves, this tool is a great value and something I wish I had picked up sooner.

Can strip and twist, but it tends to nick the wire or twist unevenly. Works better with thicker gauges. Could be improved with a tighter grip design.

Ok, first up I'm not an electrician but a homeowner type of one that watched my father in law (retired union electricial) do work throughout the years, so I have some knowledge. He would laugh at this and is much faster doing it the "real" way. But, for those of you who love kits and tools I said why not. Alright on to the review - the kit is nice, comes color coded for different wire sizes (gauges), works well and strips the wire perfectly and fast without having to size it. The attachment for twisting the wires is pretty cool I must say. I left one star off because it is a PITA to swap out attachments, or just carry two drills to solve this problem.

I must admit that I was rather skeptical about this stripping set as I had never seen anything like it. I just tested this on 14AWG wire and it worked perfectly! Stripped and twisted the stranded copper wire, and spit out a little curly kew of insulation. Nuff said!

I am a DIY enthusiast and find this tool very easy to use. This wire stripper set is color-coded for various wire sizes and works excellently with drill power. It cuts cleanly and combines both stripping and twisting in one tool.

I got this because I am in the process of doing some major rewiring in my house, and with such a big job I wanted to save some time. For occasional projects you probably won't need this, but if you have a big job this can really help you out.This does a fantastic job stripping solid NM wire. Mostly I just have 12 AWG (for 20 A circuits) and 14 AWG (for 15 A circuits). This cleanly and perfectly strips the wire to the exact length every time. There is only one drill mount for the 5 different strippers, so you'll have to unscrew to swap if you need a different gauge on a project. The drill mount locks into place at a variety of strip lengths so it's fairly easy to keep the same length over time.I am not sure how well it will do on stranded wire; I do eventually plan to run a 6 AWG wire for a 50 amp circuit, which will be stranded, but I haven't gotten to that yet. The listing only claims it does solid but other identical-looking products claim they do stranded so I assume this should work with stranded too.A spare blade is included for when you wear out a cutter, along with a hex key to remove it, but if you find yourself using one gauge more than another you could always move around the blades to even out the wear, too.The wire nut tool is extremely powerful. You'll want to dial down the clutch on your drill so you don't make too tight, or a future electrician trying to undo it won't be able to undo it by hand. Or keep it strong and it will never come loose. The wire twister works pretty well too.Also included is a variety of wire nuts. I'd prefer to use higher quality ones, but these were really just an add-on bonus so I can't complain. They could work in a pinch if you run out of a particular size of your preferred wire nuts and need just one more.I like that it came with a rigid carry case, too, to keep everything in one place so you don't lose it.
