I got tired of replacing finicky USB cables every so often. My Subaru 2019 Crosstrek does not support wireless Android Auto connection, so I landed on this solution. I plugged it in, and it took a minute to connect via Bluetooth and get recognized, and I was off and running. It works seamlessly with my Pixel XL 9. It's always nice to buy something and have it work out of the box with no hiccups. Money well spent.

Having said that, there's no question that these devices, with are hardware and software emulators, are quirky and temperamental. They rely on so many things all working together perfectly, and when it happens they are just totally slick, indistinguishable from native wireless Android Auto and Carplay in the vehicle's infotainment system. But again, they're emulators, they try to fool your car into thinking that your phone is physically plugged in. To do that, they have to first connect with your phone via Bluetooth, convince your car to either NOT connect to your phone or to ignore it otherwise, and then present the equivalent of a wired USB connection to your phone using an industry standard interface. And all this needs to happen in the correct order in a very short time, because you're sitting there with the engine started waiting to enter an address into Waze.A particular limitation is tat these devices will not pair with and support two phones, so if you're mate also uses the car, they'll need to unplug the Dora Sicom device when they get in, or else their iPhone simply will not work with the car, even if it's already paired with the car. This seems like a fixable problem, because cars with the wireless Android Auto and Carplay capability WILL support multiple phones. But for whatever reason, the emulators do not.Still, the price on this Dora Sicom device has recently gone down to about $30, and at that price point it's an absolute must have in my opinion--especially if you don't share your car. It's fast, it's super convenient, and it works MOST of the time. When it doesn't work, it can be infuriating, and often can only be resolved by unplugging and replugging the device and sometimes by turning off the car and opening the door to kill the infotainment system. But again, for $30, I think you'll be glad you tried....

I like the form factor for this wireless AA dongle. The USB connector is built right into the unit and not at the end of cable so there is no mice tail. I leave it plugged into the car so it stays out of the way and does not flop around. the unit is tiny, maybe the size of a thumb drive.I plugged it into the cars AA USB interface. It powered up. Scanned my S23 for the bluetooth signal. once i paired it, it automatically takes over your wifi and operates just as if i plugged my phone into the port. It reconnects and starts back up pretty quickly, maybe about 3 or 4 seconds slower than whit the wired connection.I am driving safer with the auto wireless connection than when i had to physically connect my phone, cuz im lazy and dont alway plug my phone in. so this give me maps on my screen more offen and read my text for me. so i play wth my phone less with the wireless which is a good thing. While you do gain the freedom of wireless connectivity, you will have to charge your phone more often or when driving around since the wireless connection sucks more juice. I'll get in my car and just start to drive while my phone is still in my pocket. While this is cool, my phone now gets hotter in my pocket because of the wireless power drain. hot enough to still have to pull my phone out of my pocket when im driving. sucks but it forces me to charge my phone and get it topped as a result. this is nothing against the product. just the way it is.The value is there. it connects quick enough and just makes sense to cut the cord out of the scenario. i fell no lag when using gps.great product. buy it. youll be happy with this one.

I have two shortcuts set on my iPhone so when I plug it into the CarPlay port on my 2018 Honda the phone will automatically begin playing music in my library and open the Apple Music app. Like the other Wireless CarPlay adapters I have tried, this one sometimes works perfectly, and sometimes hangs up on the 'loading' screen and sometimes fails to automatically open the Apple Music app, but it almost always plays music on it's own. Apple Maps, Messages and the Phone all work as expected.Unlike the other Wireless CarPlay adapters I've tried, there is no mention of a way to update the firmware on this device, does that mean it will update automatically? Unlike the other Wireless CarPlay adapters I've used, this one has a physical button on it to Reset it to pain with a different phone. The things keeping me from giving 5-stars are the apparent inability to perform firmware updates (Apple is supposed to introduce CarPlay 2.0 soon and it's very likely that Wireless CarPlay adapters will need new firmware to keep up), occasional booting issues with the device and I wish the LED light on the unit wasn't so bright, I may paint over most of the light to dim it down.

This product is quite deceptive. The title says that it includes Android Auto, and the physical design of the hardware indicates that it has Android Auto. But this device does not have Android Auto functionality. It's a nice piece of kit, probably helpful for those who have Apple Devices. But 1 star for the false advertising.
