First, the included manual and user guide are basically useless- plan on spending many hours tinkering with this if you want to do anything at all. This device appears to work reasonably well if you would like to just assess real-time noise levels, and have no interest in recording or exporting data (although, per above, you will need to mess around to figure out how to do this). After many hours of tinkering (and basically writing my own user guide), I was able to record files of real-time db levels for extended periods of time at half-second intervals (my use case). However, despite the fact that the device gives you the option to export as either PDF or Excel, it is only PDF either way. If you try the Excel option, it will be corrupted and will not open. I was able to save the PDF option, then needed to cut and paste data into Excel to work with it.So - if you're willing to make a full-time job of figuring this thing out, it's certainly inexpensive, so maybe that's fine.
