I have used these discs for a substantial amount now and they are still as sharp as the day I bought them. I am very pleased with this purchase.

These wood grinding disc work great! They fit perfectly on my 4 1/2 grinder. They are real easy to swap out and get back to work. I'd definitely order them again.

I got this from Vine on a whim and just kind of had it sitting around not really with any particular project in mind. I just felt like someday it might be useful... Then it occurred to me, I have a few small stumps in my yard that never quite justified the expense of renting or hiring a large stump grinder but they were always big enough to antagonize my lawn mower and toes. So I took an extension cord out there and got going on my 4 inch angle grinder and this thing sure did buzz through that stump. It was a buckthorn which is probably a hardwood. This little guy buzzed through it in a minute or two. I can only imagine how fast it would go on something soft like pine or spruce. I'm going to get out there next spring or summer and take care of the rest of the stumps in my yard. This thing is great.

This carving disc features extremely aggressive teeth. This works very well at removing rotten wood and bark, however when it hits solid wood it requires an extremely light touch, small contact area, and a tight grip on the grinder. It tends to catch and either bog down the grinder or run away across the surface leaving gouges. This seems like it would be better suited to softer materials than wood.Still, the price is reasonable and it can be made to work, it just requires significant technique.

After years of making woodworking projects, I never thought I’d bring out my angle grinder for any of them. I’ve always been more comfortable using traditional tools for shaping wood, but I’ve recently been working on some larger, rougher pieces and needed something more efficient to get the job done faster. That’s when I decided to give the Revvstark Wood Carving Disc for Angle Grinder a try, and I’m really glad I did. This wood shaping disc is a real revelation. If you’re familiar with woodworking, you know that getting a clean, rough shape quickly can sometimes be a chore. Traditional methods like using hand tools or even power sanders can take a lot of time, especially when you’re working with thick or irregular pieces. The Revvstark disc, however, attaches easily to my 4-inch angle grinder and allows me to rough out a shape in no time. Whether I’m shaping a large chunk of wood or refining a project, it speeds up the process in ways I never expected.I wouldn’t recommend using this tool for delicate or finished surfaces. It’s not the right tool for smoothing out minor scratches or putting the final polish on a piece of wood, but if you need to get a blank to a rough shape fast, it’s ideal. The disc took off material with ease, and within minutes, I had the rough shape I wanted without a lot of elbow grease. It also worked wonders when I needed to strip the bark off a dead tree limb. Instead of spending hours manually scraping off the bark, I used the grinder with this disc to remove it in a fraction of the time, leaving the wood much cleaner and ready to work with. The performance of the disc has been impressive. It can handle a lot of material removal in a short time, and it does so without bogging down the grinder. I’ve been using this disc for a few days now, and I’ve been impressed with how well it holds up. The teeth on the disc are aggressive enough to remove wood quickly, yet they’re durable enough to maintain their cutting power over multiple uses. However, it’s important to note that this is not a tool that’s going to last forever. With continued use, the teeth do start to show signs of wear, and it’s a good idea to keep a backup or two on hand for when it eventually loses its edge.Another thing to keep in mind when using this disc is the mess it creates. Since it’s designed for heavy material removal, it throws sawdust and wood chips around at high speed. Make sure you’re wearing eye protection, and I also recommend a dust mask, especially if you’re working indoors or in an area without proper ventilation. The disc does its job quickly, but it also creates quite a bit of debris. It’s something I’ve gotten used to, but it’s definitely worth mentioning, as I had to set up a tarp and a fan to clear out the excess dust while working in my workshop. As for the maintenance of the disc, I was pleasantly surprised by how easy it is to clean. After a few uses, I simply ran a wire brush over the teeth to remove the wood buildup, and it was good as new. It doesn’t require much upkeep, which is a big plus for a tool that’s doing such heavy-duty work.Overall, I’ve found that the Revvstark Wood Carving Disc is a fantastic tool for rough shaping and heavy material removal. It has significantly sped up my woodworking projects, allowing me to tackle larger pieces with ease. If you’re like me and have never thought to use an angle grinder for woodworking, I highly recommend giving this a try. It’s not suitable for fine-tuning or finishing, but for getting a rough shape quickly, it’s invaluable. Just be sure to wear proper protective gear, as it can make a mess, and consider buying more than one since they don’t last forever with frequent use. But at this price point, they’re definitely worth it, and I can see myself using this disc regularly in future projects.
