As a bigger guy, all I'll say is there's a reason many other pushup bars have some kind of cushioned grip. Wood can hurt pressing into a line across your palm.

I find having my wrists in the street.Position is a little more enjoyable for push ups, and these are really nice for that. Far superior to the plastic ones. Treat yourself and spend the extra money, I would not recommend these for travel though they are a little heavy

These are absolutely amazing push-up bars. The base is incredibly wide and very sturdy so there is no movement as you are doing the push-ups. The wood is nice and thick and though some people have mentioned the fact that it’s raw wood I kind of like that. However, I could totally see giving it a nice sanding and applying some lacquer if you wanted to have a little more polished finish. Otherwise these are really solid, well-made bars that I would recommend to anyone.

So far after about a month - love these. Kinda big handles, takes a little getting used to but very stable and zero pain. Might need more or better grippy surface on bottom. What’s there is good, just maybe not enough if sweat drips on the floor: might slide around a little.

The only thing I did not like was that the wood was rough, I sanded it with 220 grit sandpaper and applied 3 coats of lacquer spray with a final buffing for optimal protection and finish.The wood is smooth and protected after doing this which will make the product last longer

I have some older push up bars that are wrapped in foam. They are ok but decided to give these a try and they are so much better. They are very stable and the contour of the wood feels much better. Pushups are more enjoyable and the quality of the push up bars is excellent.
