This is a nice modern design that pinches a device so you don’t have to fuss with adjusting a bunch of screws. But it has no opposing spring, so you have to slide your device in from the end rather than dropping it straight down. And the assembly was sloppy: misaligned feet, glue on the rails.

This laptop stand is... fine. The wood look is attractive and the assembly seems solid. The issue I have is with the design. The two wooden ends are connected by a "sling", essentially. The idea is that the stand is open, then clamps shut when you place the laptop on the sling part. And it does. It's just that it's also going to close with no laptop in place. What that means is that you'll need one hand to take the laptop out of the stand, but two two put it in because you need to hold it open. I prefer a stand that stays permanently open for one-handed operation

I recently got a new laptop and was in the market for a new laptop holder. I tried a couple of other holders but neither of them worked quite as well as this one due to the design of my laptop. My laptop uses two long ridges rather than four legs at each corner to prop itself up, so typical laptop stands would not fit my device unless I put it in vertically, in which case it would be somewhat unstable. With this laptop stand though, my device fits perfectly due to the way the holder clamps onto the device all while still feeling very secure and stable. I like how you can use the stand with different devices too without the need for manual adjustment. Whenever you take your device out of the stand though, the stand will close itself just due to physics of course, but it is easily re-opened with one hand so it will be ready to go for next time. The stand itself feels quite light but still of good quality, and the wood design of the stand makes it fit right in with my desk setup.
