Iove this undermount front vise. Looks great and very easy to put together. Wonderful to operate but would suggest adding wax or grease to thread rod

Check out Ron Paulk's Smart Woodshop. He worked out a method for mounting this vise to his multifunction workbenches. I mounted this vise to my MFT using the same method and it works great. The screw works smoothly and it clamps nice and tight. I'm pleased with it.

After 4 years of heavy usage this vise still works like the first day I got it. I was nervous about this purchase since it was my first vise and I have ZERO regrets!

This woodworkers vise is as described. The wood jaw is 13" wide. The maximum opening distance from the movable wood jaw to the work bench edge is 6". The vertical distance from screw thread to top edge of jaw is about 2". All 6 mounting screws can be used - although they are only one inch long. A nice vise for the money.

This is what you would expect from a "not cheap" front vise. It's well made and looks nice. I find that the small bite of the vise (only a couple inches of depth) is the thing I dislike the most. Of course, that's the design of all Front vises, and not a fault of this particular brand.three years after purchase, I'm replacing my other front vise (not this one) with a leg vise, and that will improve my bench by miles, and probably improve my opinion of this vise in the process.

Overall, I’m happy with this vise and it meets my needs. I installed it on a new work bench and the installation was very easy - drill 3 holes in your bench face for the guide rails and screw, secure with 6 screws. You do have to disassemble the vise but it’s very simple. It takes less than an hour. The jaw throat in this vise is about 4 1/2 inches, so take that into consideration when drilling dog holes into your bench top. I spaced mine 4 inches apart and that works fine. You do get some racking when clamping on just one side (this happens with round guide bar vises vs square). You can use a block in the other side of the vise to minimize this issue. At first, I was a little concerned that the mounting screws seemed a bit undersized. Once you install all of the screws though, the vise is very solid. I don’t expect any issues. Remember this is made to clamp wood, not steel.Overall I believe this vise is a very good value and meets my needs. Please note the blue bench dogs in the vise and not included.
