The strength of the magnet on his holder is extremely weak, it won’t hold a two way radio mic very well. With any vibration, such as a vehicle in motion, it will release its hold. The magnet is a ferrous type, should have been a neodymium magnet.

Used to get magnetic mic clips that looked identical to this one back in the old CB days. Thought it's such simple tech there's now way anyone could mess it up.Well, Thanks Workman. You managed to make a simple thing like a magnetic mic clip be useless for holding a mic to a flat metal surface.Not even worth the effort to box up and return. I bought it to stick on the upper steel shelf of my radio workbench. The only way I can get it to hold up a lightweight mic is to stick the magnetic clip to a magnetic tool strip on the pegboard, magnet to magnet.

I'm used to magnetic mic hangers that kind of snap onto the mic button. This one does not, however. Other than that, it's OK. The magnet seems strong enough.

Clip doesn't fasten securely on Christmas mike, magnet is loose and will probable break.
