I even spoke to rep who assured me it is. Then to add salt to injury it cost me $50 to send back !!!

This replacement is exactly like the original, which is great, but still, the fact that this try did break so easily when the refrigerator was basically new (less than 6 months), make me think the quality of KitchenAid products is not good. So, I am NOT going to buy another KitchenAid product in the future. This refrigerator did cost me 3K and it start breaking in less than six months. I did call the KitchenAid customer support line, and they said the issue was "cosmetic", and it was not covered by the guarantee, sucks!
