I found this and wanted to give it a try. Seems on the box it says it's minimum driver independent is 12 ohms and max output is 125mW - 32 ohms. It does change and add more than what you would get but not a significant amount. It's like a rough estimate of 4-6 + db to your sound. Since it's only 32 ohms. ( equalizer apo adds db but it can be distorted to a point if you go too high) I like it and I would have used it but I have a hd 560s with a aux with mic and it doesn't pick it up unfortunately. Good product it works but it is missing details and specifically the 32 ohm on the sell page.

Look, don't expect miracles. It works really well for what it is, and that's a low cost DAC that cleans up and mildly enhances your tunes. I got cleaner highs and lows that were slightly boosted. Do I recommend it? Definitely. Will it blow you away with its performance? Probably not, but for the price, it's a really good deal. By the way, I don't know what's normal, but mine gets really warm; also, get some adapters to plug into your devices as it's a USB-A plug.

I bought the XtremPro X1-1 DAC to experiment with low-budget equipment in two desktop configurations:• laptop => DAC => Sennheiser HD 558 headphones• laptop => DAC => Nobsound Class-D amp => Mission MS-50 bookshelf speakersI’m impressed with the DAC’s plug-and-play capacity. There are no drivers to download, nothing to configure. You just plug it into a USB port, and it works. The source device (phone, computer, etc.) recognizes that the DAC is present and automatically routes the signal to the DAC. So far, I’ve streamed Pandora, Amazon Music, and YouTube on my Windows laptop, Android phone, and Amazon Fire Tablet. I also played locally stored files (WAV, FLAC, MP3) up to 96 kHz using Foobar 2000. Volume is controlled through the player on your laptop, phone, etc.If your device doesn’t have a USB-A port, you’ll need to get an appropriate adapter (e.g., micro USB, USB-C, Apple Lightning). I had to string together some janky connectors, and the DAC still worked, no problem. The X1-1 does not play DSD, MQA, or files above 96 kHz resolution. There are no fancy filter options, adjustments (other than volume), or input/output options.About the sound: Compared with the built-in DAC in my laptop, the X1-1 DAC brings out more subtle detail and refinement. Digital glare is reduced a bit. Imaging and instrument separation are somewhat improved. I slightly prefer the X1-1 sound to my Fiio D3 DAC, but that’s not an apples-to-apples comparison because the source and digital cable to the Fiio are not the same as with the X1-1. Comparing the X1-1 to my Schiit Audio Modi-3, I slightly prefer the Modi-3, which has a bit more resolution. I wish I could compare the X1-1 with an AQ Dragonfly. Based on my limited comparisons, I’d predict that differences in sound between the X1-1 and other sub $100 DACS would be pretty small. It would mainly come down to features that fit your needs. If you’re looking for a highly portable DAC and you’re OK with minimal features, the X1-1 is a great value. On a side note: I tried using the X1-1 DAC with an iFi iSilencer+, which reduces electronic noise from the source. With the iSilencer+, there was a very slight improvement in subtle detail, but overall I wouldn't recommend the additional cost. The iSilencer+ works wonders in my living room system, but that’s with much more expensive equipment.

I’ve been using this DAC for three months, and there is a marginal improvement in sound with substantial increase in volume. The downside of this is a very loud crackle sound every few minutes and it makes the DAC unusable. Waste of money.

I didn't have high hopes for this DAC when I bought it, I have it driving a pair of meze 99 classics and it really bring out the best of them, I have the dac connected to my Iphone 12 pro max, you cant use it with out the camera adapter with the power supply connection so its not portable but I did not buy it to be portable. The sound quality is top notch and I can say that it compares to my home stereo setup which is an oppo 205 dac (top ess sabre 9038pro) connected to an analog parasound preamp. For the price it cant be beat. would definitely recommend to anyone . As far as how long it will last I don't know I have only had mine for a couple of days.If it goes bad I will update my review.

Great product for the price. Sound is clear and crisp coming through to my HD600s. Pretty neutral sound signature as far as I can tell but I could be wrong. I feel like the mids could be enhanced more maybe. But this is far better than a direct AUX connection to my laptop or PC.I'm giving this 4 stars because when I have this plugged into any USB port on my desktop that isn't directly linked to the motherboard, like ports on my monitor or through a USB hub, I get occasional interference that comes through as a very loud dialup tone/digital-sounding crackle. But connected to the front ports on my desktop it seems to have no issues. Driver have been updated multiple times. Not sure why, but something to consider if you like having the headphones connected to something on your desk.

I'm pretty new to the world of streaming audio, and this is my first stand-alone DAC. I've been using the Bluetooth output from a Surface Pro tablet to stream to my main stereo system for several months. The instant access to a practically infinite array of songs kept me happy for a while, but then I started to notice the sound quality was lacking. I've seen a lot of DAC reviews over the past few weeks, and all of the options start to look overwhelming pretty quick. On the recommendation of a good friend, I decided that I would try the XtremPro X1-1, and I'm very happy that I did! The improvement over a Bluetooth connection is obviously a big part of the difference, but I think this DAC has to be the best bangs for the buck of any audio purchase I have ever made! If you're just getting started like me and looking for an inexpensive alternative to the big name brands, I think you'll be very happy with this little DAC!
