2 of 10 of the largest beads fit over the largest hooks. Bummer.

This fly making it is pretty limited in scope and quality. Not a whole lot of options, and what is included has a pretty cheap look and feel. Not hugely impressed.

Material kit is bulked out with stuff I wont use. Some biots would be nice, and better dubbing, maybe some natural colour dubbing. If you want to make small wooly buggers you are set.. I would have paid more for a bit more variety and better selection of colours maybe some quality dubbing and wire. The weighted beads I had to file to get on the hooks.. good for beginners and to practice.. but you'll soon be wanting more and better quality..

This set is great for getting into tying flys or to add variety if you are an experienced fly fisherman. There is such variety in this set from quail feathers to peacock feathers to deer hair as well as hooks and colorful strings. Lots of individually packaged items which makes it easy to keep things organized. The variety is truly amazing!

I bought this when was first starting out. The hook and bead assortment really appealed to me. However, I quickly realized there aren't many flies you can tie with these materials alone. The most useful materials in the package are the flashabou, marabou, the peacock herl, the hooks/beads, deer hair, and maybe the rubber legs but they are very low quality. You probably wont use the rest very often or at all. Honestly I don't think I would buy this again or recommend it to a beginner. Also, be warned that the "pheasant tails" are TINY and definitely not suitable for tying pheasant tail nymphs.
