It's big and feels just as heavy-duty as the standard vise pliers I already own. No corrosion and had a nice layer of protective oil coating the springs and hinges. This us excellent for hose clamping jobs, but also helpful in many repair projects. I fixed a wood chair back with this because it held the wooden post together where it had split while the glue cured over a 24 hour period. The large, flat jaws gave me a secure and perfectly even clamping that I couldn't achieve with my standard jaw vises I referred to a moment ago. Price is superb for the overall quality here, because the size and heft together would have me assuming this would cost a whole lot more, so I'm recommending. Thank you and have a remarkable day.

Nice pair of Hose pinch off pliers. Typical Visegrip type design pretty solidly built especially since they're made for pinching off isn't a high Torq job. The clamping jaws are 3" wide which is good for most modern cars but I wish they were 4" for trucks and older cars also. I haven't tried them on a car yet but I did squeeze an old hose I had laying around and they worked good and I've used this type before and they do a good job of cutting off the flow. They are a good solid pair of pliers for the price.

What I liked about these Xiao & Dao locking pliers is that they really do a good job of clamping hoses without damaging them. The angled handle is a little weird, compared to another pair of straight hose clamping pliers I have; they do not really give you any additional clearance in most situations. I can't tell if it was intentional to improve clearance, or simply a design choice, but I couldn't find an application that would benefit from this design.

I've been wanting a hose pinch off tool having gotten tired of jury-rigging solutions whenever I need to work opn a car without draining coolant. This does the job, and the underlying "vise-grip" type plier seems as good as the brand name product.

It's a nice big nasty pair of vics grips with an oversized jaw. I know it's designed for pinching hoses, but by the time I get around to doing that I'll already have used it for dozens of other projects.A smaller surface area is usually preferred just for clamping, but for laying things out flat, or even for bending, this long jaw makes life so much easier. It clamps well, it feels good, and it looks good doing it.Highly recommended.

These locking pliers work quite well and I like the flexible, non-serrated jaws. They are great for holding an item when you need an extra hand, but the smooth, flexible jaws don't mar the surface of the item. These would actually make a good clamp to hold two pieces together while waiting for glue to cure.

Honestly, do yourself a favor and buy these instead of the plastic ones. You'll be happy you did! I do a lot of work on my own vehicles and have needed hose clamps many times. I've tried the plastic ones, and they break and don't help at all, total waste in my opinion. And regular vice grips will crush and tear a rubber hose. This hose clamp is perfect, the best of both worlds because it has the force and hold of vice grips but has smooth jaws that swivel into the right position and allow just the right amount of pressure on the hose without tearing into it. I like the size as well, not too bulky and not too small. It's actually a pretty versatile tool and I'm sure I'll find many other uses for it besides hose clamps which is why I ordered it. Made of heavy-duty metal, not sure why it says "plastic" in the description under 'Handle Material', it is entirely made of metal. Well worth the price!

The overall quality feels solid and something that is built to last. The wide hinged jaws make for an excellent addition to any tool kit and perfect for those situations where you need a larger grip surface even when the subject is not even.
