Beware this amp is crap!!! I bought on and have had it for 2 years and rarely used. I have 2 sound systems, 1 for clubs and one for outdoors. This amp runs monitors for the band and resides in the box for outdoor venues only(and most of the time our outdoor venues have sound techs and equipment provided) so it has been used maybe 5 times! Setting up last night and it is dead! No power no lights. Luckily I have a couple back up amps. I use QSC for the mains on both sound systems. Spend the extra and get a good amp. And you are always better off buying a separate crossover so you can adjust the frequencies to the subs and you don't get the bleedover these amps give you.

I purchased this to go into a High-End separates stereo system to drive some difficult speakers. I am using this amp to drive some Thiel CS3.5 speakers which have an impedance that can run as low as 2 ohms at certain frequencies. I am completely happy with this application. I had recommendations for amps costing multiple thousands of dollars and decided to give new technology a chance. These are Class D amplifiers and very fine ones indeed. Completely quiet, free from distortion of any kind or any coloration that I can hear and more power than you will ever need. I'm running it in balanced mode with an Emotiva XSP-1 preamp. I was not impressed with some of the early class D designs, but Crown has done a superb job with the XLS Drivecore series.

This thing is simply killer on Magnepan MMGs - awesome combo. Unfettered dynamics and control - almost too much fun. The fact that it's light, cool-running, totally silent (if the fan has come on, I haven't heard it and I sit about 2' away from it) and easy to place (no vents on top) only adds to its virtues. And an even better value at present at the prices you can find due to the introduction of the new XLS xx02 amps - which seem to have the same power section but different DSP features - none of which I use.

All this power to a 15 inch sub. Its clean, silent fan, light weight, never even gets warm. Note: when using home audio equipment with it, its input seem under driven. Onkyo line output signals are low. Gonna get a pro rack mountable mixer to fix this. Still, pictures are rattling on the walls.

Amazon part #nxls 2000 are Crown xls 2000 amps. Bought one amp to try with oppo 105d to Legacy Focus SE speakers and they are excellant. Now have 4 ea. crown xls 2000's powering 5 ea. JTR 4 ohm speakers, LRC's are JTR Noesis 212's bridged, surrounds are JTR 228 Noesis running stereo from one xls 2000. The amps sit in a hall closet and run cool, the fan has never come on. Notice no sound quality difference between the crowns at lower to medium volume levels vs a high end reciever or emotiva xpa 5 these crown amps replaced, just more headroom, about 6 db. Crown's are audibly invisable IMO, they just make tons of clean power. Crystal clear at 105 db w/118 peaks using a sound meter which is more then I can take in short bursts. XLR connections between marantz 8801 & crown amps, the speakers have no hiss, no noise with the gain set at the 1/2 point which is 12 O clock. Purchased based on a review written by andrew robinson you can search and avs forum reviews on the jtr thread where many are using pro type amps in the home. These amps are a terrific value.

I'm working on upgrading our Church's very outdated sound system, and one of the first needs was a new amp for our main speakers.I opted for the more expensive Class D Crowns due to the good things I'd heard about them (and I've heard them first hand in other systems I've run). This amp is clean and works wonderfully. We're running it at 8 ohms, but it would have plenty of power to give if we decided we needed new speakers at 4 ohms. I love the amp's sound and versatility. The light weight was a bonus during installation.Other notably awesome point - this thing is silent when running! I'm not even talking about when compared to the other amps we have (which are loud); At no load you cannot hear the fan at all; under load you can't hear the fan because there is more music volume than any sound put out by the cooling fans. Not sure what else to say here other than this was a great buy and I'm tempted to get an XLS1000 for our monitors. Feel free to ask specific questions if you have any and I'll be happy to answer.
