Yakamoz Router Collet Extension for 1/2'' Shank Bits

This collet extender allows you to change router bits from above the table—even without a lift! Even if you have a lift, they still make bit changes easier because you won't have to remove the insert ring. They're also great for custom made router tables with very thick tops, as they provide the additional depth of cut needed for many routing tasks. Use them to achieve full depth of cut when machining dovetail splines.

These are perfect for extending the reach of my router on my slab flattening machine. When installed new there is no vibration from the extended shaft of my router. However be careful not to move too fast. It is inevitable that I will sneeze and jerk my router, this usually knocks (bends) the extension out of round causing a lot of vibration. Time to replace the extension... I go through a number of these in my business. Luckily they are not too expensive. I have used more expensive ones which are marginally better but still fail when pulled too fast.
