Easy install, works great. Licence plate holder and wire grommets are a little too flimsy.

This Yakima rack system is really quite nice. We have two full lockers, and mount them to a class B RV. This light system leaves me with concerns. Two major flaws, probably easily addressed. As was mentioned by others, the license plate can fall off, easily. The provided screws are not reliably secured. So, if you plan to drive 1000 or more miles in a day or two, you have to continually check as to whether the plate screws are tight. We lost a plate half way across the country. Major headache. The second issue are the bracket attachment bolts. They are also probe to backing off and, as we found can fall off. I am still searching for a solution to the plate fastener, and will use split ring washer to solve the bracket issue. Both of these issues could have been solved by yakima. For pennies. I am out hours of time. Good system, love it overall, but if you buy the lights, use split ring washers and let me know how you ensure the plate stays put!

Very easy to install and operate. But similar to other reviews, DO NOT USE THE CRAPPY PLASTIC LICENSE PLATE TABS that come stock. Our plate fell off halfway through our trip. Do yourself a favor and invest in zip ties or something more secure vs the tinker toy plastic screws they give you. Thankfully it was not our main plate, but save yourself the headache!

The bolts on the arms will vibrate loose. It’s defective. Luckily I noticed when one fell out and I didn’t lose my license plate. I wish I didn’t buy the entire setup.

It’s nice for you to be able to have the additional lights and display your plate when you have the top rack.However, the hardware for the license plate is junk and I would not use. I lost my license plate and did not know until I was filling up my car with gas.I would recommend using multiple zip ties or something. The mounting area is rubber and should be a bracket like a trailer. Yakima needs to use actual bolts versus plastic. The concept is nice but lacks execution.I love the rest of my Yakima gear including EXO products.I have skybox, bike racks, kayak racks, and multiple exo accessories. I just don’t recommend this unless they make the necessary changes.

I should have read the reviews, I lost my license plate while traveling with this attached with the factory plastic hardware. Highly recommend the zip tie option if you don't want the same to happen to you. For the price I am disappointed in Yakima not providing better options.

For a safer drive with Yakima Exo, it is definitely needed, a must have item with Yakima Exo since Yakima Exo blocks all the lights at the back of our SUV
