I've owned several pairs of HS7's and never thought to upgrade to the larger HS8's, but lemme tell you the HS8's are so much better. I would never go back to a pair of HS7's again. Get the HS8's you won't be sorry

These sound incredible. The stands are sturdy, would still be cautious by some of these reviews of the stands having bad welding. It is a whole new listening experience, and you find yourself relistening to old music just to see if you can pick out some of the finer details.

I think anyone purchasing these has probably already done a ton of research. I use mine for professional video editing and amateur music making. I'm glad I got the HS8's even for my small work space the HS5's wouldn't deliver as big of sound as I need. I use them with the Scarlett 2i2 and a Macbook Pro. They cables these came with are great, I haven't had the courage to put them on the stands yet. The plate that holds the speaker is small and these don't feel real secure on top of carpet.

I was going to send these speakers back. I heard nothing but static coming from my Fast track Duo when I plugged these monitors in. It turned out that the FTD was plugged into a bad USB3 port on my new computer. When I switched ports, I could hear perfect sound in 1 speaker and noticeable static in the other speaker, which persisted after I stopped playing a recording. I was going to send this other speaker back, but then I learned about ground loops. I plugged the hissing speaker into the same surge protected strip as the other and voila! Perfect signal in both speakers!

I am very happy with this deal. Basically free stands and cables!!! Unfortunately I received normal XLR to XLR cables instead of the TRS to XLR cables.
