I replaced a direct drive AT turntable with this. Everything with the exception of the wobble of the platter. The platter is cast and seems true, but the spindle is not. Ah the ever so slight rise and fall of the platter as this disk rotates. I think I will go back to AT.

The unit was easy to set up and it sounds great. Highly recommended if you're getting into vinyl.

The turntable is beautiful and even the base line cartridge supplied with the machine sounds great on my Yamaha receiver. Unfortunately, this turntable lacks a key function of needle return at the end of a record requiring you get up and pick up the tonearm and return it to rest position. Doing so also does not turn off the turntable as it continues to spin. These seem like basics for at turntable, I was disappointed to see this missing. Otherwise it is a great sounding device.

デザインが秀逸です。カートリッジシェルがもう一つついているともっといいです。また付属のカートリッジは平凡で、無い方が良いと思います。別売の候補をあげるとか・・

Very very easy to assemble! This is not just an entry level turntable because it's not cheap obviously, it's a great step up you don't have to spend $1,000 to get good sound. I match this with the blue Ortofon so that put me about $720 into my system, it's like I spent $1,200! Highly recommend this

Sound has been excellent so far, setup was easy, just follow the instructions included. Hooked it up to an older Yamaha receiver I had, and got some new klipsch speakers for it, entire setup is great.

Replaced my Technics SLQ-300 purchased new in 1976. Included cartridge is very low quality. This table deserves far better. Now have Ortofon Red and albums sound amazing. Like having new recordings. Of course, defects (scratches, pops, etc.) are also highlighted. Phono pre-amp seems to be very good. Recording to computer using Audacity software (free) produces very high quality files. Initial setup of tone arm balance is a little fiddly but once mastered works well. Anti skating setting is vague but works very well when dialed in. Suggest using a tone arm scale for final adjustment. My table was running fast (over 35 rpm) as delivered. Trimming screw on the underside allowed me to adjust the speed closer to optimal. This is a trial and error process and not recommended for those new to turntables. Online apps are available for the iPhone which use its accelerometer to determine rotational speed. In sum, this is a high quality unit as expected of Yamaha. The piano black lacquer finish is spectacular and the silver/black presentation is elegant. It must be noted that this is a completely manual unit; it lacks automatic initial set down and the tone arm must be manually lifted at the end of the record.

I was a set on buying a Rega P1 when I saw this model used for $200 for the Amazon Warehouse. I brought it thinking what the heck if I don’t like it I could just return it well this is a keeper for sure! First off props to Amazon the “Used” Turntable was brand new the box was justed opened. I replaced an AT IP60 and this Yamaha Smokes the AT they are not even in the same League. The finish on the Yamaha is beautiful the pictures dont do it justice. The sound is were it shines it sounds Amazing I dont use the built in pre my Yamaha 780 has a pre built into it. Make sure you setup the Tonearm correctly I found a really good Video on Youtube and brought a scale on Amazon as Recommend it in video.

Works pretty good and produces clear bold sound. There was a minor issue with the platter fabric. It accumulates static and sticks to the vinyl disks, so when I lift the disk, the platter fabric is lifted together with the disc. I had to spray the fabric with anti-static and stuck it to the platter using double-sided tape.

Best turntable I've ever owned. I'm hearing spaciousness and depth that I never new existed in my albums and there is absolutely NO turntable noise. This Yamaha unit is also excellently isolated from floor sounds due to walking around the room. As a test, I walked around the room several times while digitizing an album, increasing my footfall with each circuit, and it was not until I walked with an exceptionally heavy step that the stylus picked up a hint of floor sound.Setup was easy, but the tone arm balance instructions missed one step: Lower the tone arm lift lever before performing the balancing procedure. Is this unit a bit pricey? Perhaps. But Yamaha is all about sound and this turntable delivers. It's worth every cent.
