I bought this recoil starter assembly last summer and thought it best to review it after using it through the late fall. OK, so what if I dragged my feet LOL. This unit was so easy to install on my Toro Recycler lawn mower with GCV 160 Honda engine. It looks a lot like the OEM assembly and it starts the engine with an easy pull. I'm very happy with this purchase!

I made the mistake of buying one of the "red" ones here on Amazon to save money, and because of all the positive reviews. Well, it worked fine for a few weeks and then it started to give me trouble with starting my GCV160 engine. Spent a lot of time removing and resetting it. Now it makes a screeching noise with the engine running. Bought this Yamakato and right out of the box you can tell the difference. Very sturdy! I think it is more substantial than the original that came with the mower. Fits right the first time, no drilling and squeezing or shimming..like the "red" one. Others have had good results with the "red" ones, so you can take your chances. But this one is a winner.

My recoil starter broke, as you can see in the picture. GCV-160 HONDA engine. The part number for the recoil starter is 28400-Z0L-V20ZA and this replacement fits perfectly and works great. Excellent replacement for a very good price 👍👍👍

After ordering multiple recoils that said they would fit my Cub Cadet. I figured out through Cub Cadet that I had an older model. This one fit and started it right up.
