Makes a very nice ball of yarn but needs a lot of babysitting along the way to keep the feed from tangling. It is easy to set up and conveniently clips on to the edge of a table or counter top.

Super large spindle - big enough to handle an entire Hank of heavy yarn with ease. The tension adjustment is a real nice added feature. Variable speed is very smooth and consistent, motor power is good and had no problems pulling medium weight yarn from her yarn swift to the baller. We would like to see cord for power supply a foot or 2 longer, but not big enough deal to lower our ratings. For Sure Two Thumbs Up -- Highly Recommend!!

This has a great concept but need improvement. The yarn coming out of the long skeins needs an additional guide below the one on the winder to guide the yarn. My son printed me a 3D one that works fantastic. Even on high speed it is slow to wind a skein from long skeins to round center pull.

Easy to put together, winds yarn neatly and quickly. Quiet operation and works exactly as expected.

I already had a Caydo yarn winder and wanted to compare this one against it. They are very similar in appearance. The Caydo has an extra tensioner, and the yarn slots are at the bottom instead of at the top. The Caydo can also be powered via USB-C, which is a big win in my book as I have plenty of chargers around my house. This yarn winder has a barrel plug, which means you need to use the charger that comes with it. It works fine with that charger, but I greatly prefer USB-C. The operations are essentially the same. You insert the yarn in the same way and turn the dials in the same direction. Neither yarn winder goes super-fast, but this gives you an opportunity to ensure the yarn is properly de-tangled and flowing smoothly. It will pause when the yarn no longer pulls smoothly and can recover, but in case of major snags, you may need to stop and start it again. I don't see this as a dealbreaker as the Caydo works similarly. They both will handle large amounts of yarn and both wind nice tight cakes. I personally would pay a little more for the Caydo because of the USB-C connection, but if that doesn't bother you, buy this one and save a little bit of money because it does the job perfectly well.

Update 4/24/25: During the 2nd use, the circular part that the yarn winds on completely broke. From the way it came apart it either had to be already broken or cracked. It looks as if it had been glued possibly before as well. Im so sad, as I was so excited about this machine.Original Review: Works as it says it should. I am happy to have this as a beginner crocheter. It is definitely helpful to get the out of control yarn skeins back into a useful state. Highly recommend!
