Honest Opinion. This unit is better than expected considering some of the reviews. Haven't had a problem. Mounts right below my rear mirror. Been on very bumpy roads. It did come loose once, but the road was horrible. I tightened it back up, my more problems.

Don’t waste your money. Wont suction to anything. Not cobra detector compatible . Was even missing a nut.

I just installed this and I can tell it is definitely stronger than the suction cups that came with my Cobra radar detector. However, the suction cup is rather large and this prevents it from sticking to certain section of the windshield with more contour. I was a little limited as to where it would stick because it would not get suction behind the rear view mirror. I can also see the screws being an issue as they could potentially unscrew from vibrations while driving but some thread lock will likely fix this. Either way it’s an upgrade from the original suction cups that came with the detector.

Holds great and eliminates the wiggle you have with the bracket included with the radar detector. My only issues with it are: 1) I would prefer the radar detector to sit closer to the windshield (but this is minor), and 2) the bracket has a nut welded to it, and a plastic wheel with an inset nut to hold it all tight. On mine, it wouldn't stay tight. Plus, the wheel kept the radar detector from snapping into place on the metal lip. I fixed this my pulling the plastic wheel off, putting the bracket first, and then using the nut to tighten it all down without the plastic wheel. Holds snug now, no wobble, and the bracket slides in far enough to lock on the catch.(Will add a picture later)

Proper...that what I would say.The original detector mount was flimsy and this allowed me to properly reposition the detector on my Chevy Van.I had originally planned to dismount the suction cup every night so as to preserve it's useful life as long as possible but it like a set it and forget it type of product. That plan went through the window as the suction power is so good I don't even realize that it there and seem to never remember to released it when parked for the night.
