This looks great and my daughter loved it! Beautiful design and etching in the wood. I love that it will latch so the recipes won’t fall out. You can also hold the recipe in the slot at the top while cooking. Would definitely buy again for a gift.

You can barely see the writing on the box, and the box itself was super cheap looking. I only received three color index cards, I did not get the green ones pictured. The only thing that was okay was the recipes cards but totally not worth the money I don’t recommend this product will definitely be returning

I received this as an Amazon Vine Reviewer (I didn't purchase this product; this was given to me for an honest review).retail price: $22.95order date: May 3, 2024I was looking for a recipe box since the one I bought at Goodwill was starting to overflow. I wanted a wooden box that was well made; I wasn’t really interested in any of the things that came INSIDE a recipe box but have come to change my mind.Before you buy a recipe box, you need to determine what is/are important to you:- a heavy box that will last for decades through moves vs something to start a young person with that they might replace in the future- plain or decorated: if you get a plain one, you can get the box to be carved or burned with whatever design you want (which will cost more than the box itself, I guarantee it)- magnetic closure vs hinges (I haven’t seen anything that offers both)- recipe cards that match the box/ theme; how the recipe cards are templated, etc.- stands: do you want your recipe card to be able to stand up on top of the closed box? Do you want to be able to do that WITH your phone together? Does that matter? Does it matter if the card needs support to stand up?Pros to buying this one:- The wood is NOT finished but it’s smooth- The hinge looks like it’ll last as long as I don’t drop it. It’s also made in such a way it won’t be a pain to replace if it breaks.- tall (in case you want to to anything on top of your cards and long (easily fit my 200+ recipes)- wooden divider in the middle of the box: you can separate your recipes however you’d like, or use the other space for blank cards if you’re just starting out- great notecard dividers: but I need more than 6! These are really TALL so if you’re like me and you print out on regular letter-size papers and fold those into quarters, they WILL NOT block these dividers!- right now, it’s relatively cheap: $23 is well priced; I’d pay for that price for sure- the top of the box is the best I’ve seen: it actually holds the 4x6” card upright the way it’s SUPPOSED to with minimum tilt (see picture)- engraving: I personally think the engraving is pretty, though it’s hard to read. The box I received has a much darker finish than the one pictured (which I didn’t mind) and this made the etching a little more difficult to seeWhat you should know:- the edges are not rounded, so they are a bit sharp for my taste- there are no magnetic closure on this one; just the hinge clapse- 50 recipe cards is a good start, but they don’t necessarily match the box or dividers. They are a slightly glossy finish, so you should use a ball point pen and not a felt tip when you write on these

I bought this as a sort of joke gift for my sister for Christmas. There is always one specific recipe she asks me for every year at Christmas time so I wrote out the recipe on one of the cards and put it in the box. I honestly didn’t expect too much for the price I paid but it pleasantly surprised me! It is very well built and is sturdy. It looks like it will hold a lot of recipe cards, which is good because she loves to cook and bake. The bonus was the spot in the top that holds the recipe card upright.
