Bought this teapot because I recently bought some looseleaf tea. Loved the color purple it was so I decided to purchase. When I took it out of its protective packaging, it's looks like someone used it and sent it back. There are many imperfections and scratches on the finish. Is that supposed to be that way? It's supposed to be a matte finish but the tiny scratches make it look like poor quality. Also the top is offset and doesn't close all the way even with the strainer in it. The spout looks like someone didn't put enough color on it so it looks like it has a white undertone. Debating if I should return because outside of that it's a cute teapot in my favorite color and the price is decent.

As another reviewer noted, the Purple color is not as shown in the description photos but is more of a deep blue. The photos also make the teapots look more like shiny glaze than the actual flat matte color. The lid is a pain because it is hard to remove for cleaning, does not fit the opening and leaves a gap, will not stay open by itself easily while you pour boiling water in, when it closes it makes a loud clang on the ceramic (there's no soft gasket to cushion it). The basket has no tab or handle for easy retrieval of the basket after brewing, so is easy to burn your fingers. One thing it got right is the pour spout does a good job of pouring both fast and slow with minimal dripping or dribbling. It seems to be really hard to find a good teapot these days.UPDATE: I've had this pot less than a month and it cracked this morning after I poured the hot water in, a crack all the way across the bottom and up both sides. I had to throw it away. What a waste.

I needed a small tea pot that was cute - this one fits that bill. But it’s more of a dark blue than purple. It still complements my kitchen vibe. I get 2 large mugs from a full pot. I haven’t used loose tea in mine, but it works great with teabags. Now that there’s a chill in the air, I’ll be using more and more. It’s also on my list to give as a Christmas gift for my niece - just need to decide on the color.

I love the size of this teapot as it’s perfect for my needs. It makes two large cups of tea (or 3-4 smaller cups) but takes up very little counter space due to its shape. The colour is a beautiful red and it looks great. While I find the basket for loose leaf tends to leave too many bits in the water it works well for holding teabags that don’t have strings to help retrieve them. It cleans up very nicely, I can’t easily get my hand in and out but most of the time a quick rinse in soapy water is enough and if you need a better clean it can go in the dishwasher.I really like this teapot but the reason it’s only 4 stars is because I hate the lid. When I first got the teapot and went to put it on the dishwasher I took the lid off and it scratched the teapot (thought not very visible) and I had to bend it to get it to clip back on again after the pot was washed. Then there is the nails on a chalkboard sound it makes when it touches the ceramic. I continued with the metal lid for a couple days then I cut my hand on the side of the lid, and again the next day. I luckily had a ceramic lid that fits perfectly and gives a better seal. The metal lid is handy because the design of the teapot means you need something to keep the lid in place when pouring but the metal one isn’t for me.

Wanted a medium to large pot as I drink tea constantly throughout the day, and it’s absolutely perfect. It doesn’t take up much space but holds two BIG mugs of tea easily. It looks so cute on my desk ands pours really well without a lot of dripping. I love the removable strainer as I steep both loose and bagged tea. Would highly recommend!

I’ve been using mine for about a year now and I love it. It holds about a quart of tea that I can drink throughout the day (I like cold tea too). It’s good for loose tea and I can remove the little filter and just use teabags too. It’s sturdy and looks cute and modern. I love this little teapot.

I’m English so I have had a good man teapots in my lifetime. I have a collection in my kitchen that is mostly decorative. But this bad boy is my daily. It looks much smaller than it is, takes up little space on the counter, but most importantly, the spout doesn’t drip AT ALL. This is a game changer. The loose leaf tea basket is also quite handy.

This teapot doesn't turn green tea brown or leave a bad taste after sitting for a while(several hours) like the sterling silver one (18/10) I used previously. The color is not Purple, more of a dark blue, as one reviewer stated, is why I ordered it. The biggest complaint I have is the lid lever should be about 11 mm longer to give more thumb control when filling with hot water. It is too short and risky trying to hold it open.
