Feels like a good sturdy cleat. It's got good heft and I would not fear placing stress on this cleat. Please do be aware that while the top surfaces are polished to a mirror shine, the inner layers where you would lay your ropes are not. When testing the cleat and all provided hardware with a strong neodymium magnet, there was some minor magnetism. This could mean there is some ferrous material or it could be from the way it was fashioned. Nonetheless, it still seems to be a decent quality of 316 stainless.Speaking of the hardware, I am happy to see that you are provided with both screw style hardware as well as bolt/washer/nut style hardware to give you options for your install. All in all, I consider this a good option for a cleat when you are considering using it in salty environments but I would also suggest that you may find better priced options on this site, as well.

These cast stainless steel zig zag cleats put a spin on how you connect your moor line. They are solid and are more than adequate to do the job.Pros: They passed the stainless steel magnet test. They are thick and they is a lot of material to grab your rope. The edges are ribbed to grip your rope better. The outside surface is polished, but that is the only part that is.Cons: Where the rope passes through the ends is only 1/4" inch. I feel like this may wear down a 3/8" rope (as per the advertised rope size). Also, I agree that the inside part should be polished. In my particular use case it doesn't matter, but if I were putting this on a shiny boat, I would want all my hardware to be shiny as well.

These two (2) Zig Zag type Rope Cleats are made of high-quality 316 Stainless Steel and are perfect for Marine or Boat/Dockside use. These measure 3.45” x 1.73” overall in an oval shape that has a raised profile of about 1”.These are crafted with care without snag edges or imperfections being highly polished and look to be excellent cleats that will accommodate 3/8” ropes with raised rope track friction edges on the insides of the rope guides, perfect! These do include mounting hardware to use with the preexisting mounting holes in the cleats. They are very easy to use and offer excellent hold or grip for fast engagement when needed.Excellent quality and priced accordingly.

These are smart looking cleats that are excellent at grabbing onto ropes 3/8" diameter or less. The zig-zag cleats are effective provided there is tension on the line. If there is no tension, or you are worried that the tension will drop, you need to do a double wrap on both ends. One of the reviewers complained that it is only shinny on the top, but I view that as a positive as the inner workings hang on to the rope much better that way. These come with bolt and screw options.

These are non-magnetic stainless steel, the inner parts are not polished so that it will bite the rope better. They hold the advertised rope size well and correctly. I'll be buying more.

These cleats work really well on my kayak! They are well-made and were easy to install. I really like how I can use them with one hand, and they are really good at holding the rope without any slippage. I especially like The open format for threading the rope Instead of looping around and around like a regular cleat.

Does what it’s supposed to do but aesthetics isn’t quite there. The outside of the piece is polished, but the inside is not. Definitely not marine grade 316 stainless steel… I can pick it up with a magnet
