No blade breaks so far and stays reasonably sharp. Not a substitute for hedge trimmers (obviously).

It takes little effort to cut most of the branches. That's a plus. The con is when you get close to the size they say it will cut the arms feel a little flimsy like they're going to break.

I am elderly and disabled. I got this in hopes that it's ratcheted feature (to increase the force it applies) would offset my not being very strong. I immediately fell in love with it! It's lightweight enough for me to be able to wield it easily. The straight, rather than curved, blades make it easy for me to line up a cut. It takes very little force to get the job done. If I had a say in the design I wouldn't change a thing.In point of fact, this is my second time to purchase this, because a relative borrowed the first one and lost it. The replacement they got for me was heavier and didn't work as well, so I took advantage of a sale to buy myself another good one. Now, no one touches it but ME!!!

Had to return the first one but that turned out to be easier than expected. On receiving my replacement lopper, I had to prune an apple tree. Works quite well, and with the extension handles I was able to reach higher branches to thoroughly cut them. Saved time and less wear and tear. If I'm not mistaken, I still have a couple of days before I can return it. Hopefully, with this one I won't have to and it will last for years.

At this point I don't have anything I dislike about the lopper. The telescopic feature is very handy and when the handles are extended, it still feels strong enough in the handles when your making a cut even on some harder limbs.The ratchet feature is really helpful when cutting larger branches.

The trick is with the ratchet function. If you have never used this type of tool start slowly until you hear the click, then pull back and clamp again, repeat until branch is cut. Excellent tool. Once you get used to the ratchet feature you will never go back to the other types you had. It cuts effortless through branches. I had a similar one for 5+ years but broke the carbon handle. Because of that I fear doing so again with this one but so far so good. It has proven to be strong and sturdy especially on the shortest extension. I have shoved the thickest it could take and has simply cut through the branch with ease. I have taken down 50+ feet tall trees and used these cutters all day with minimal strain in my arms and back due to the ratchet function. Great buy.

Now I can reach those taller branches instead of pulling out the pole saw. Love the ratcheting action and adjustable handles. These are the best loppers I've ever owned. Just remember to give the adjustable handles a good twist when you extend them to lock them in place or they may shorten mid-cut.

i have used it about a dozen times, got in to a 1 inch or so peace of half dead wood limb and the blade bent .the racheting part would not hardly work to begin with also . i was in the hospital for a while earlier that is why im late getting it used . and now i find out also the time limit is up and i cant return it or get my money back. i got a bad deal all the way around THANKS . I bought this product for personal use at my home. I used it for about an hour with great success until I realized that a piece of the blade had broken off. Now what do I do? Its not cutting anymore. I'm having a difficult time finding a replacement blade. I'm not happy... :((
