These have become an integral part of dahlia dividing season! Caution they are VERY sharp and I would highly recommend an ANSI grade 9 cut resistent glove while dividing dahlia tubers.Loved it so much I asked for another pair for Christmas!

These scissors are, without a doubt, my favorite for splitting dahlia tubers. They’re sharp and perfect for getting into small spaces, making the often tricky task of splitting tubers much easier.

Keep them clean and oiled regularly and they’ll stay sharp! Can’t imagine splitting dahlia tubers without them!

These snips are nice and sharp, comfortable to hold, and have great tips for cutting into stems to keep parts of the crowns on my dahlia tubers intact without ripping the plant tissue. They worked so well I bought a second pair to rotate between plants while keeping the other pair in diluted bleach disinfectant.

This was recommended on a Dahlia growers FB page which I read after I butchered my Dahlias in 2003. I ordered immediately and kept pristine until this Fall. What a difference they made in dividing most of the Dahlias this year. Excellent purchase.

Fits well in my hand, very sharp. I think the handles suit a left handed person as well. I bought two!

I got a really nice pair. I usually order a couple pairs of bonsai scissors a year for my greenhouse operation. Even at 15.70 this is a really good value. These will last you a long time if you take care of them. I say "even" at 15.70 because almost exactly a year ago I bought 3 pairs of these for 12.21 each. That is a $3.49 difference. Per pair. That seems unreasonable to me. This year I bought 1 pair of zenports and 2 pairs of Brussels bonsai shears. Other than the finger guards on the Brussels being more flexible, the overall length slightly shorter, and the bite not quite as smooth, they are a much better value. Maybe Zenport is charging more because their manufacturing costs have gone up. I dont know. I say that because last year 2 of the 3 pairs had ill fitting jaws. They were loose. But I have bought many other pairs before and have mostly been satisfied. This pair is perfect. Anyway, if you do get a pair that is too loose, just take a hammer and lightly tap on the rivet connecting the two halves until you get the fit that you like. This is very easy to overdo so be careful. Eventually though, they will get loose even if they dont start that way. Usually only after cutting larger diameter, more solid items. Anyway, good product (usually) and I am sure I will buy more.

These are heavy-duty garden scissors with a keen edge and sharp, pointed tips. They are one of the best tools ever for dividing dahlia tubers - strong enough to cut through dried stem yet precise enough to reach into a clump and carefully remove a small tuber. The handles are long, relative to the cutting area, giving you lots of leverage. The blades are thick and strong, but with a long bevel and sharp edge. The two halves are held together with a rivet, not an adjustable screw. After several years of use mine are still tight. The steel is not stainless, so they last longer and work better if you clean and dry them after each use and then wipe the metal down with an oily rag.
