Mine was paired right out of the box. All I had to do was put batteries in and start pushing buttons.

hard to justify the 685 dollars for a remote control, but then again, a whole new pool control system is well over 1800 dollars. No issues at all with the set up to my Jandy system, installed the batteries and it connected right away. Same controls and format. Also, i was contacted by the seller to insure i was getting the correct remote.

I bought this remote to replace my 10 year old blue remote #8265. The item arrived super fast, which was great. At first, it started up just saying "WAITING" so I decided to follow the very simple instructions on how to change the channel settings. Once I did that, the remote came to life with all my stored information and it works like a charm, no more aggravating sticky buttons etc.... Finding this item on Amazon was great and I saved over $100 from my local pool supply store.

My daughter proved that the PDA is NOT waterproof and within 5 mins, I was poorer by the cost of a new PDA. I looked at the Q and As about this replacement and decided to buy it, fingers crossed that it'd be compatible with my main control unit/antenna etc.The unit was shipped and received earlier than expected and came with instructions on how to re-configure the main unit to this new PDA. I had to open up the antenna cover on the main unit and get the new PDA to be paired to the mother board. It happened on the first attempt and I was relieved that I had a working PDA again.My local pool stores had no stock of this item and this was my only option. The company also recommended the alternate/new route of replacing the antenna, a new chip to be done by a licensed technician and then that would make the pool controllable by the iAquaLink app but that was going to cost me at least thrice the amount. So, I am a very happy customer at this point in time (less than 24 hours after receiving the product and setting it up). I only hope it does not break on me for at least 5 years - the older one lasted for approximately 8 years.
