If the water level reaches a certain point, automatic or manual settings on the machine can efficiently pump that water away from your property’s foundation. How often the pump runs depends on the amount of moisture in the space. A corrosion-resistant finish over cast iron construction provides incredible strength and durability, and stainless steel screws assembling the seal, arm, handle, and guard stave off rust. The pump uses a 1 ½-inch discharge pipe and can pass spherical solids up to ½ inch in diameter. The lack of screen keeps the unit running smoothly. I have a 18x24 inch sump pit with a new 1 HP Wayne pump. The pump is actually improperly sized for my needs as the pump drains the amount of water that activates the pump too quickly and continually short cycles. The Zoeller piggy back switch allows the user to set a much higher water level and subsequent recovery to eliminate the short cycling. Appears to be well constructed and is relatively easy to set. I had no experience with this type of switch but after using it I am impressed with the concept. The instructions provide ample explanation and caution user about placement of the float which is actually the most important part of the equation. Design of float appears to indicate longevity can be expected.

Purchased this to replace a failed switch on my Zoeller sump pump. I have purchased this style of switch in the past for half the price, but figured I would get the Zoeller quality and it would be the same brand as my pump. 10 days after installation, I found my basement flooded. I found the float full of water, not floating and had also blown the GFI. There are better quality float switches for far less money.

Easy to replace the Zoeller sump pump. Need to make more space to install the power cord and need to cover with larger outlet cover for outdoor use. Not fit for one gang box cover.

There is a secret compartment under the product that reveals needed parts. The product works great, but having a false bottom the same color as the package is not helpful.

This is a quality tethered float switch made in USA. I bought it after the vertical float switch failed in my Zoeller M53, which I believed failed because my pump short cycles and runs alot.Zoeller customer was excellent, they sent me a new vertical float switch (pump was a year old), told me to replace it and take the float off. Then zip tie the switch arm in the on position and add a tethered float switch to solve my short cycle problem!!!Put the tether float switch on made adjustments as per the instructions, everything is perfect pump cycles about at least half of what it was before!!!Oh and all the hardware (clamps and tether holder) come with the tether float switch.Will up date once a year on how this product holds up.
