This is a nice little pump, as powerful as the one I was using, but I don't have to use an external timer anymore, and this one is self-primming! It works great at circulating water and pushing it through the filter, and at running a vacuum as well. We're talking quality stuff. I very much recommend this pump!

I used this as a second pump on my pool to be dedicated to the self crawling vacuum robot. It is good to avoid using the main filter and pump. I also use it to go straight to discharge for debris collection. I really like that it has a built in timer for saving on power as well. I can have my vacuum operate at different times from the skimmers now.

I am using this 45 GPM CIPU 115VAC circulation pool pump on a push-and-roll wheeled cart for portable vacuuming where I had my pool guy spend an extra day setting it up on the cart with an input hose from the pool and an output hose back into the pool. This way when I need to manually vacuum, I plug it into the 120VAC GFCI and I can vacuum the trouble spots manually. I added an inline filter between two 1-1/2 inch pool hoses to prevent the big stuff from getting into the pump but the pump basket would have collected the leaves as well. There's enough power directly from this pump to get enough suction for a great portable vacuum, and yet this pump is very light at only about 11 pounds, but it's more like 15 or 20 pounds when it's full of water. For me, the size and weight matters because it's being rolled around the concrete deck, but it won't matter much if you're using it in a permanent installation setup where the timer will come in handy.
