I was very pleasantly surprised by the quality of this microscope, especially for something under $50. Although marketed at kids, as an adult I had plenty of fun examining the included slides, and found it a useful tool for investigating small electronic components, mineral specimens, and skin lesions. I found it most useful when used with my laptop, so I could see the images on a larger screen, but the built in screen is not bad and can be used for on-the-go explorations.It is lightweight comfortable to use in either the handheld or stand setup, and both parts feel very sturdy despite the all plastic construction. They connect easily and the dials move smoothly. The integrated light source is strong and clear, and provided good illumination of most everything I looked at. This set even comes with a 32GB micro SD card. The instructions are clear, although the design is straightforward enough you can figure most things out quickly without referring to them.Really my only complaint is that the SD card is difficult to remove from it’s recessed location without using tweezers – but since there’s a pair of those included, it’s not a big deal! Overall, excellent STEM gift for kids - and a fun gift / tool for the curious adult!

I don't know why they market these new electric microscopes, with their high-resolution displays to view the magnified image, to just children, because they are potentially very useful to anyone that needs to view and document small items. I can see this being very useful to hobbyists that collect coins, stamps or documents and to an agricultural inspector grading product or looking for a disease. For the mature user, this Wetpuorek electronic microscope is a nice one, because, unlike some of the others, it is not designed to look like a cute little animal. The unit can be handheld or used with the very smooth stage to view slides or other flat materials. The unit is smaller than some I have seen, which will make it easier to carry around in the nice soft drawstring bag that comes with it. It also comes with a 32GB micro-SD installed so you are ready to take relatively high-resolution photos and 1080P videos right out of the box. It also comes with a cable to recharge it from any user supplied USB charger and the same cable can be used to connect it to many different computers to view the image on a much larger screen. The integral screen is very bright and round and slightly larger than a masculine smart watch. I was initially questioning the round screen until I remembered that the image you see in an optical microscope is also round. After using it for a while, I was fine with it. The one thing I did not figure out initially is that in the instruction manual it points out two microphones (two very small holes) as well as a speaker (horn), but what are they used for? I finally figured out that they needed to be turned on in the settings and then they added audio to your videos. In my brief tests, my deep voice sounded like I was gargling with peanut butter, but I think a child's voice might be a little clearer. The audio is a nice tough in any case and should capture the child's excitement. I think that this would be a very valuable tool around any household and very useful for finding and documenting ticks and splinters.

Excellent little microscope!! The kids absolutely loved it! It has good focus adjustment so that you can see things clearly and really magnifies a lot. It takes photos and videos and you can even store it all on a memory card. The kids loved that you could pull the scope part off of the base and carry it around to look at things outside. So nice that it's rechargeable too so that we don't have to change batteries. It lasts a long time on one charge. Picture is of my super dry skin under the microscope. We are very, very happy with this product!

The microscope takes a little getting used to as far as operating it, but it isn't bad. The microscope produces an excellent picture and for any child looking to explore more of the world, this is a great tool. I also appreciated that I can use USB to connect the microscope to the computer and see the images in greater detail! It's a great microscope for the price.
