I got these to buff out some auto paint scratches and also to restore some yellowed and foggy headlights. The 800 grit is great for cleaning off the oxidized plastic, then I used the 1000, 2000 and 5000 to finish the polish work. Not quite as good as brand new ones but not bad either and this was without a sealer that makes them look new. After working with paint and plastic long enough to meet my goals, I could not see any wear on the disks I used.

Works great, no problems using them wet or dry.

I just used these yesterday to wood filler on some shelves. Using 60 grit (the most abrasive), it took 2 minutes to sand down one spot of filler. After 2 spots where sanded, a discs was useless. After 3 discs, I switched to name-brand ones to finish my sanding. All I had on hand were 120 grit (much softer). The 120 ate through the filler in 5 seconds and sanded 20 spots and is still good. These are not good for sanding wood. They might work better when wet, or for soft sanding items like paint or clearcoat, but for me they don't do much.

The silicone carbide grit on these sanding discs cuts and polishes well, particularly wet. Once the disc has dried, it cleans easily with soft rubber and is ready to be used again. I've been using these to prep and polish some solid state relays (about 1¾" x 2½"), then strip the paint from some aluminum heat sinks and polish those surfaces. These discs are giving me great, smooth surfaces that fit together very well and require only a bare minimum of thermal paste. The average temperature of the relays, in use, has dropped by more than 15°C as a result of that polishing.
