I love this detector, I have been using now for over 6 months.My sister has the same model in a minelab and they definitely are equal.It's nice and light and does not tire out my arm.It does take a minute to understand the settings, make sure you understand the notch setting, I have accidentally notched out a lot of settings by accident and was difficult for me to undo the settings.Great kit with a super sturdy digger.The pointer is a must.

I’ve never used a metal detector, or what my parents like to call it, a “Geiger counter,” before. This is something that you need to buy knowing unless you are looking for something specific that you dropped and need to find, you may never find anything of value. I knew that going in I was just probably going to find scrap metal, and maybe fish hooks due to a tackle box being dropped on our property a long time ago. It’s moreso just an excuse to get me up and moving. It’s very relaxing to me. You absolutely need to look at the instruction booklet and know how to set the settings or it’s going to beep every time you move it, and that is not so relaxing. So far I have found a spring that looks like it’s off of an old tractor. I can’t wait to see what other old “junk” I find. To me, it’s super interesting to have a look into the past even though it may not even be that old.The quality of this machine is really good! It can pinpoint you to where the metal is pretty well, I didn’t have to dig so much to find my little spring. Speaking of, it comes with a nice little hand spade that is pretty durable and strong. The device is super adjustable. I’m on the shorter side and was able to make the detector shorter to fit me. The arm band is comfortable and adjustable as well. The screen is also adjustable. It comes with headphones as well that I haven’t bothered to use as I don’t need to be quiet where I am and I have the sound up pretty loud on it. I’m not an expert at this kind of thing at all, I just think it’s a cool hobby and this is certainly a good device to pickup if you’re looking to start this hobby.
