I needed two more inches for this to work for my home. Those that have brick ramblers really need to be cautious of trying to get this unit. I loved the idea of it helping cool the upstairs and be in the dining room window without balancing on the sill or taking up the view. It would have been great had it cleared the bricks on the outside of the sill. I was still able to test the unit and it works just fine. The remote is really nice and it will make a nice gift for my niece who doesn’t have bricks on the outside of her windows! I love the design and if they make one that can go a few more inches to accommodate brick ramblers, I will be happy to enjoy one!

This design causes very little loss of usable window. Most of the unit hangs down below the window. I'm surprised that this clever design has not become the standard. It makes so much sense. The Midea AC unit I had my eye on has it all backwards. It allows the window to almost close like this one, but the bulk of the unit still blocks the glass. This unit almost seems built-in. And it is easily the quietest window AC unit I've ever experienced... probably because the noisy part is outside and below the window. So far it cools like an AC of this size should. Only time will tell of its longevity, but it seems solid.Installation was like any other window unit. Annoying. That just goes with the territory. But I was able to get a good seal using the adhesive foam strips and blocks that were included in the box.Remote control works, but there are also controls on the unit itself. Overall I'm impressed.

First of all, I want to explain how big of an opening this thing needs. The device itself is 18 and 3/4 in wide. And that is how wide of an opening you actually can fit this into. The included installation pamphlet says that it needs an opening of 24 in and the online information says it needs an opening of 28 in. I don't understand either of those things. I installed it into a window with an opening of 22 in.The installation was extremely easy. The hardest part was getting it out of the box. The box was very well packed and came with very clear instructions on what to do. On the outside of the box it said to cut away the packing tape and lift the box off of the product, but that wasn't possible because the box wasn't designed that way. So when opening the top of the box, immediately you're faced with instructions that say to use the plastic straps around the device and lift it out of the box. I tried and tried and tried to lift it out of there applying more force than it would take to lift up the entire unit while holding the box down and I never was able to budg it more than half an inch. So finally I just cut the corners of the box and laid the sides down flat on the floor. That worked just fine. The instructions about all tha other stuff seem to only be important if you plan to keep the box.So once you've got the box situation resolved it's extremely easy to install. I just grabbed it around the waist and hoisted it over the window sil and set it down. There are some other things you need to do with putting the foam blocks under it first and things like that, but the basics are so easy. They included a little bubble level so you can get it precisely level using the pre-attached leveling arms with rubber feet that are outside the window. That process was simple and then there is additional foam blocks and strips that you use to create fairly good seal around the window in the opening.Operating it is also extremely easy. I did not read the instructions and was able to turn it on and set it to a temperature. There are a few different modes that you'll need to read the instructions to really understand what they're doing and maybe to set some timers and things but basic cooling is just turn it on and set a temperature. There is one thing about this that I'm not excited about. There is a drain for condensation on the inside of the unit. I kind of hope that that is just there as a backup in case not all the condensation drains outside and drips out. If you do need to drain it indoors for all of the condensation, that's extremely disappointing. I live in Michigan where it's humid so we'll have to be emptying this thing everyday or multiple times a day. Time will tell how that goes. When the thing is on on maximum it's much quieter than my previous window unit. And when it's on quiet mode you don't hear it much at all. This thing would be great for sleeping if I had it in a bedroom. The remote itself interfaces nicely with the unit. It appears to have a built-in temperature sensor so that the room temperature can be sensed away from the unit and the unit then runs appropriately. If that is in fact how it works, that's fantastic. All of the modes have buttons that are easy to view on the remote and the LCD does seem to display what's actually happening with the unit.

We needed this unit as a temporary thing and the U-Shape captured my curiosity, a saddle for your window. Surprisingly, the shape makes it very easy to Install, did it by myself in 10 minutes. It's quiet and it makes a fraction of the noise that the older unit did. It can cooled down a 12x12 room in a minutes and our electric bill only increased a few dollars.

At 12k BTUs this will be the coldest my garage will be this summer, I used to run a portable unit on wheels with a single hose, but it was largely ineffective and just barely took the edge off. I ran this on our one warm day so far and am excited to not be sweating, as much, during the hotter months.Installation is quite is for a majority of installations, if youve installed a window until this will be a cake walk. Unfortunately for me I did this in an awning window and require a replacement 'window' to make it work. Since I am in a rental a regular window unit won't work since it will rest on the window and I don't want to damage it - thankfully this allows me to build a fake wall and maintain vertical space.Operation of the unit is easy, but I don't want to leave the remote in the garage - thankfully the controls are simple and hand operated if needed.

This U-shaped air conditioner is a great upgrade from traditional window units, letting me still use my window when needed. It was well-packaged and easy to install by myself, even on a second-story window. The 12,000 BTU power cools down the room super quickly, and the filter is easy to clean and reinstall. Highly recommend this unit for anyone needing fast and efficient cooling in a small room.

Installed this unit in a 600 sq ft living room and it has no problems keeping us cool.I've never used this sort of unit before, as we typically use mini-splits throughout the house. So I wasn't sure what to expect.Color me surprised! It's just as quiet as a mini split, and comes in one whole unit. It came with all the necessary parts to install flush into our window unit as well. No need to drill holes in the wall like with a mini split. The remote is always a nice touch as well.Honestly I can't find fault in this unit, lets just hope it lasts a long time!
