There are days worth of items for this, kids have been loving it. Some pieces feel a little cheap, but they have lasted the kids a few weekends now. Hours of enjoyment, and please do expect to be shown everything that's caught and brought.Magnifying glass is also a bit cheap, but still something to be very careful with, as it is good enough to burn and start fires. Don't ask.

I love that this set comes with 2 of everything so the kids don't have to go back and forth sharing when they find a bug they want to investigate. The tub for them is perfect size for their hands and I love the adjustable strap for it. Seems pretty durable, the plastic makes it very safe, the tweezers and scissors are very easy for them to use and the magnifying glass is adorable! Functions great and let's them learn and explore their environment. I was very happy getting 2 sets for the price of what one set costs from other companies!

I don't know why, but boys seem to love bugs. So this kit is just perfect with my grandsons come over to visit. They love to look at the bugs, see what they are eating and more. This kit has all that they need to fuel the bug collecting desire. There is all the tools they need to capture an insect, net, tongs, tweezers and capsule clasp. Then there is a magnifier and bug jar and even an observation container that has a telescope to get a really good close look. There is two of everything, so both my grandsons have their own of each item, no fighting over who has what! We have had lots of fun with this bug exploring set!

I let my niece pick out a gift and this is what she wanted! These bug catching kits are fun, but we had a little trouble finding anything to catch since it's winter. But we finally found something with wings and she so sweetly scooped it up, examined it, and then let it go! I was so proud! The kit comes with everything outlined and it's all doubled, so there was enough for her little sister, too.

This kit comes with two sets for kids to explore the nature or to pretend play with miniature animals toys. The plastic is sturdy enough to not break after throwing around the house. The containers are a bit hard to open with young toddlers but no problem with a 5 year old. Some of the parts, like the tweezers and hook, are small and can get lost easily. Overall, this is a fun toy to keep the kids busy.

I was the geeky little kid who LOVED collecting bugs growing up. I spent a TON of time finding different bugs, collecting them, observing them, and releasing them. Bee's, ants, butterflies, beetles, worms, caterpillars, etc. I often had many different bug collections in my room at a time. So I got these to share my passion with my kids. I've bought several different bug containers over the years. These are not my favorite. The nets aren't very sturdy and you don't want them breaking when collecting certain flying bugs. If you apply pressure these are going to break, snap, or open. Since it is a set this is something you're paying for... Unless you have a super careful kid these are not going to last a week! Then let's talk tweezers. I NEVER once used tweezers on live bugs because I didn't want to hurt them. Maybe if you are working with dead bugs or fine with killing them, then go for it. Most things you would use tweezers for you can use your hands for... Especially kids! Most aren't going to understand how much pressure they are exerting. What I dislike MOST about this set is it's a "container" but it's not truly enclosed due to the magnifying glass. Although it's a neat feature there is no piece to fill in the hole if the magnifying glass is removed. Again we're dealing with kids and bugs, kids misplace things and things get lost or bumped, knocked over, etc. There are plenty of bugs that are fine to observe in enclosed containers that you don't want flying/crawling around your house, or getting out of this container. Because of the way it's designed I just don't feel that this is anything but a bug observatory. Catch and release only. Maybe that's what you're looking for and this is a great set for you; but I'd recommend you to keep looking if you want a collection container! Or if you're just doing a momentary bug collection with your kid and don't want something longer term this might be okay? The small bug container has too large of a hole on the top of it for the size of bug it SHOULD hold. I don't know. This misses the mark on so many levels.

My son is obsessed with bugs and got this kit for his birthday. He is loving it for all his backyard pets he finds. The only thing I wish it had was smaller holes so tiny bugs couldn't get out.
