Im wondering if I was sent used sets somone else had already returned. I installed 26 of these in my 13" planer and tested on some 4/4 cherry. The cherry boards were only 7.5" wide and the machine was absolutely screaming during the cut. Wood came off in sawdust not shaving. The machine that worked fine before could no longer force the boards through the blades and would stop feeding mid cut. These teeth left a terrible finish with peaks and valleys all over the work piece, suggesting the blades are not all the same dimension. For over $30 per package of which I needed to buy 3, I expected blades that would actually work. Not impressed considering the time and money i have wasted on these. They will be returned.

I'm fairly new to wood turning, so my carbide tools are still getting a lot of use as I work on using more traditional tools, and these CDBP 14mm inserts are a perfect fit for my 17" Vansork roughing tool (photo). Nicely machined on all faces, and with each face numbered to keep track of when the insert needs replacing. The CDBP inserts cut wood fast and precisely, and seem a bit sharper than the original equipment insert they're replacing.

Seems to be much stronger metal than what came on the Craftex Helical 13" planer. Will continue to replace dull blades with these as the original ones seem to go dull pretty quick. Not sure if this is just that I'm putting a lot of material through my planer, unrealistic expectations of the original/previous blades, or bad original blade quality that was on the planer before. But I do know that the few I did replace are holding strong and the blades I didn't replace will be getting replaced with these.

What all can I add, These carbide steel inserts for wood lathe tools are really good quality and extremely sharp. I have purchased these before and they hold up real well and at this price with multiple sides you have a sharp tool no matter what. I turn a lot of stone insert ring material like crushed opal and these cut it like butter. Plus when they get dull I simply turn them 90 degrees and keep on working and it never slows me down. I like to have some extras on hand as to never run out and I keep the ole lathe turning. I would recommend these to other wood turners if you don't have any carbide insert tools what are you waiting for the replacement parts are super inexpensive and the tools themselves are not that expensive. I like the old standby tools they have treated me well and they are still used frequently but, this new generation of tools are well worth the look and stop sharpening so often. Yes I would recommend these for purchase and will purchase them again.

It would be helpful to explain the descriptions in more traditional sizes, such as i5,i3, or i10. Or whatever. They are just off. I will find a way to use them in time, but you cannot tell these sizes in pictures,

I bought these to compare to the luxcut 3 carbide inserts. They match the outside dimensions (including radius), but they have a countersunk hole while the luxcut 3 has stepped holes. I haven’t tried them out, but it’s carbide and the finish looks great
