20 minutes in a full 5 gal. bucket and very warm. Will be using it to heat a portable baptistry the next time we need to set it up again. Going to plug it into a thermostatic switch-plug.

My application is to augment an existing homebrew boil kettle for beer making. My kettle is only 1500W so very difficult and sloooow to reach a boil. I tried a different band heat stick and found that it stopped heating somewhere around 150F. Returned it and ordered this one. I have used it twice for brew days and it has been successful on both occasions in adding the additional power to quickly raise temp of water/wort and produced a rolling boil when this heat stick and my boil kettle worked together for 5-6 gallons of liquid.

The heater itself appeared built well and functioned as expected but the thin transparent plastic plug end that goes into your wall socket was so far below the required 1500 watt capacity it immediately began to dangerously overheat then ultimately start melting after a few short uses. The manufacturer appears to be fully aware of the dangerously underrated electrical connection as they state in the poorly written documentation that the device is not to be operated for more than a few minutes at a time and always under direct supervision. I guess this is their attempt to indemnify themselves when you sue for your house/shop/barn burning down if you try to use it like any normal ULA approved bucket heater.Stay away from this incredibly dangerous crap, your family will thank you for thinking of them.

I purchased this to help heat an inflatable hot tub.I hung it above the hot tub just submerged so it was sitting in the water vertically and left it for a couple of hours. When I returned it had evaporated half of the water in the hot tub.

Use this along with a induction heater for brewing 6 gallon batches of beer instead of drilling into my shiny new kettle for a water heater element.Get up to temperature very fast and looks very well made. The rubber cover did burn at the top so I discarded it and use this device under the brew kettle false bottom and no problem.

Water heater broke. This was used to heat up bath water...in a garden tub, lol. Had to leave in water for approximately 2 hours to heat up ½ the garden tub (then add cold), but hey, it worked. Love this thing. Who needs a hot water tank when you have this ! Seriously. Be cautious, you must keep it submerged under water at all times, if water evaporates, leaving unit exposed, it will melt !! This is the reason it has melted in other reviews, not properly following DIRECTIONS.

I was skeptical when I bought this little water heater.I know it wasn’t designed for heating up a big pool… But I was hopeful that it would be able to do at least 5 gallon bucket of water. It did in fact do a good job heating up a 5 gallon bucket of water. Very happy with this purchase and the cost of this heater is well worth the investment.

I bought a couple of these to help keep my Koi pond warm, and they did better than expected. I have a pond that’s 6,000 gallons 30” deep, even though I cover the pond in winter the extreme cold lowers the temperature enough to be fatal to koi. The lowest temperature deemed safe for Koi is 40° F and today the water got down to 38°F. Just 2 of these bucket heaters and a small circulator pump actually raised the temperature back to 40°F in about 15hours with the ambient temperature as low as 10°F overnight. This is a 5-star product, ignore the low reviews as those are people who don’t understand electricity or have electrical problems in their homes.
