This was very easy to assemble and will work for fine bedding (don't expect to buck massive loads of hay around your barn or coop!) I do appreciate the added handle on the rake to reduce discomfort and add a place for a secure grip while working.

I got this for cleaning out our chicken run. I mainly selected this one since the spacing on the wire basket is very close together and thus would do a better job of filtering out the waste from the sand. I like the larger Head being 15”. This allows me to work a bit faster by being able to scoop larger sections of the of sand at once. The downfall however is that scooping larger buckets means more weight. The handle material is not made with strong enough material to support much weight. The walls of the pipe are made from very thin metal and the threading on the segments of pipe are not cut deep. This has resulted in being able to only take very small scoops of dirt at once or else the pipe bends and is about to snap. Also you can’t “man-handle” it at all. Since the handle is threaded, if you lift up a clump of dirt and its not centered in the basket, then the offset weight will twist the handle and loosen the threads.I’m going to continue to use this device until the handle breaks, then im going to attach it to a solid handle that I construct from thick wooden dowel rod.
