I was really excited to finally find a metal scooper, but this one is extremely flimsy. I have 3 dogs in a large fenced yard I clean up after, and the scooper works well enough, but without sides the poop can slide right out as I'm transferring to the barrel. Also every once and a while the teeth get stuck together. I've only used it for a week, and it does get the job done well, I just really wish it had sides so I could pick up more than one pile at a time.

I can’t say enough about this product. All the plastic ones break and don’t last long. This one is aluminum/metal. It’s light weight and the teeth works great. I ordered a second one, because I wanted to make sure I had a spare. Very durable.

Our dog "goes" on a patch of sand and this is the best type of scooper for that. The plastic handle broke after about four years. In that time, the price jumped considerably. Nevertheless I'm ordering a 2nd one because it's the only one I could find with the rake-like prongs on both sides, that lets the sand fall through.

SERIOUSLY THE BEST SCOOPER EVER!Seriously. I'd Buy 2/year if I had to.This is by far the Best Scooper at getting down to the ground and lifting poop cleanly out of the grass with out smearing poop in your yard. HANDS DOWN!Yes the cable is attached to a plastic handle and yes you will go through at least 1 scooper/year. Its 18 DOLLARS! Buy 3 like we do and in three years you will be DESPERATELY looking for 3 more.We have 7 Rottweilers. This holds up to 7 Rottweilers for a year each. Sure I would like it to have a more durable build. But for what you are paying and the QUALITY PERFORMANCE it offers... Shut Up and buy several. THERE IS NO OTHER SCOOP THAT WILL GET YOUR YARD AS CLEAN. Trust the Gal with 7 Rottweilers.I panicked when I couldn't find this under Dooley Doo Scoop any more... I dont care what they call it or how often I have to replace it. I want to walk in my back yard without dragging smeared rake style poop in my house via my shoe tread. I also want the to carry a bucket in one hand and the rake in the other. The Super Scooper Checks All My Boxes.
Quality first.

I was concerned about open jaw design when I bought this one, but it works much better then two jumbo plastic scoopers that I bought before. Both of them were of traditional design and broke after 2-3 month of weekly use. This one;s jaws open much wider and allow the user to scoop the landmine of a substantial size and various consistency in one try. The only concern that I have is the thin steel cable that connects the jaws to a squeeze handle. Will update on its durability in a couple of months. But overall smart design that beats the plastic scoopers. Update: cable broke after 2 months, I replaced it with a thicker one, then the strips that are pulling the jaws broke. I guess nothing lasts forever...

I've had ours for 18 months now. I leave it outside year round in the elements. it is still in fantastic working condition. We wen't through three in the 6 months prior to buying this one. they all had teeth break on them. the "flimsy" teeth on here are aluminum and thus give a bit when needed. You can actually use it in longer grass too which is a HUGE plus! (and it is needed if you have ever tried picking up frozen poop in long grass!!)I have a 25lb dog and pick up about once every week or two. it holds a lot in the "teeth" but not more than a couple piles worth at a single times. I just lay open a plastic bag and drop the piles into it. My Mom uses a small bucket with a bag liner to pick up and toss.If you are a germaphobe or have a serious gag reflex this is the ideal poop picker upper. LOL no bending down at ALL. the handle is longer than any other product we've tried. you can keep a nice distance between you and to poo!

This is the best pooper scooper. We just got it in the mail and I agree with previous reviewers that the construction is a little flimsy but it is the most effective scooper on the market. The long teeth on both sides of the scooper are extremely effective at getting into the grass below the poop and scooping it up with the first scoop. There is no wiggling, re-scooping, or trying to pull the poop off of each blade of grass. It is just amazing how quickly and effortlessly it cleans up the poop. We have 2 golden retrievers and it is impossible to get all the poop out of the grass, especially after it rains and it rains a lot in the NW. I was shocked when in 10 minutes I was able to clean up the yard with no residue left in the grass (after a week of not scooping due to so much rain). I only hope that the construction of the scooper holds up. Even if it breaks after a few months, I will buy it again. The plastic scooper only lasted a little over a month and it would have taken 45 min to do the same job. I am very impressed with this scooper.

In theory, this is a great product. The external components seem to be made for long life. Too bad the interior mechanism is not. After scooping only 4 poo's, the inside cable began to come loose from the fitting, and eventually failed altogether rendering the jaws inoperable. The mechanism is basically a piece of picture hanging wire fed from the handle to the jaws of the scoop and held in place by a small metal compression clip at each end. These clips are cheap and flimsy, and could probably be made more substantial for about a penny.I ended up having to replace the wire with a more sturdy substitute which required breaking the handle open since the entire product is made with rivets and glue rather than screws. I hope this will solve the problem, and I'll at least get 6 months of use out of it.Maybe I just got unlucky and got a manufacturer defect, but having now seen the inner workings, I'd be hard pressed to buy another one.
