These activated charcoal refills are identical to the ones that come with my electric composter so they fit the bins. The activated charcoal refills come in two packets of 210g each which totals to less than 1 pound. Most other activated charcoal refills are sold in larger packages for comparable prices. Not noticing any difference in the quality of the refills, I find this particular brand costs more per unit. That said, since I only use my electric composter once or twice per week, I do not need to replace the charcoals as often as the heavy users. Those who change charcoal refills more frequently should shop around for better-value packaging.

Pros:-it's as it describes in the description saying 210g and I got 233g including with the plastic, 467g in total-perfect work with my electric composter-way better odor control compare with the OEM charcoal from the composterCons:-there are still cheaper option with the price compared with this brand but overall, this is a good purchase-

Good quality charcoal is important. When testing this charcoal, I even considered making my own for comparison…just so I could give a truly insightful review. Sorry if I “geek out” a bit: it’s an occupational hazard of having my degree. 🤷Now, you could try to make it yourself. But after charging coconut shells (or bamboo) in the fireplace… could I “activate” it? Could I add the right kind of acid? Would it permeate the charred carbon? All the way through? Would it dry into strong, resilient pellets that don’t crumble easily? And then, would it absorb odors quickly? And perhaps more importantly, would it keep doing so over time?If we think about it, we can appreciate this product…and its quality. This is well-made stuff.(It arrives vacuum packed, which is a good sign.)For a quick test, I placed a teaspoon of the charcoal pellets in an old glass vitamin jar with some chopped onion. After just five minutes, the onion odor was dramatically reduced.Minor caution: activated charcoal is often made using either phosphoric acid or zinc chloride. If vacuum-sealed, it’s possible there’s some residual “activator” still embedded in the carbon. My research suggests this will dissipate fairly quickly (which matched my experience), but you may want to let the product air out on a porch for an hour.I’m happy to report that this product is great.Bottom Line:This is quality charcoal. It’s well packaged and contains very little powder. It absorbs odors quickly.Just my take; I hope this helps! ☺️Friendly Note: Rest assured, I try not to give biased reviews. I care about my education and my integrity. Also, very importantly, I’m a smart shopper. And if you’ve read this far, I’m sure you are too. Thanks again for reading.

These are great to use to help with the smells from your small kitchen composter. They're perfect for any one where you can refill the filter and the price is much better than brand name pellets. You can also use these to make your own sachets to hang under the sink or wherever noncompostable garbage is kept.

I know these are meant to refill home compost bins but I actually used them to help with the smell from my cat’s litter box. I just wrapped some up in a bit of cloth scrap, tied it up and hung it in the corner of the litter box enclosure and it’s been working great! I actually noticed a decrease in the smell. Would recommend

This two pack of odor absorbing carbon refills looks pretty similar to our Vita Mix (yes the blender on “steroids” company) Food Cycler. This machine basically chops and dries up your food scraps so you don’t have to deal with the smell and odors from composting your food scraps. I didn’t realize that I had two charcoal filter containers at the back of the machine until the “change filter” light came on.The OEM refills are much more expensive. It’s basically small chunks of charcoal. To remove the back panel and the charcoal filters you can easily google to get the instructions-just be careful when you pry the lid off so you don’t spill the loose charcoal. These two replacement bags replaced the two containers and had a little bit left over, so very economical.

I ordered this activated charcoal for my Airthereal Revive Electric Kitchen Composter. I am extremely happy with this charcoal and how well it worked! To be honest, I didn't even realize that the filter in my kitchen composter could be refilled. I thought I had to buy the complete filter unit when my composter started to have an odor. I had no idea that the filter unit could be opened and refilled but it was very easy! It saves me money too and that's always a good thing!Be very careful when you open the filter because those little charcoal nuggets like to jump out onto the counter! The bag actually holds more than the filter so I think the two bags will fill it about 2 and 1/2 times. I took the old filters and put them in my garden so there was no waste.I will be buying this activated charcoal from now on! Recycles, saves money and works great! What more could you want?
