I wish there was a little more slack and adjustability to tighten the straps once they’re placed onto the backpack, but i do really like the clips. Overall, i’m satisfied with the purchase

I studied the directions and photos for a very long time but could not figure out the correct way to attach the straps to my backpack. I ended up just improvising and clipping them on (didn't look quite like the photos), and they stayed on and worked OK for a short time, but then soon came loose and fell off. I'm not a rocket scientist but I'm usually pretty good at understanding assembly instructions, not sure why this one is sooo hard to set up correctly.

Purchased to add to my kids' schoolbags for when they are cycling or scooting to school and it does the job very well. The little clips prevent the straps sliding around and have been secure since first attaching them

The straps are a great value for the money, and I will buy them again if I need more. I put heavy tech equipment in my backpacks, and the sternum straps are essential for holding the pack in place. I wish all backpacks came with them. Since they don't, straps like these keep the pack in place if you are traveling/hiking, carrying other items in your arms, or need to bend down while wearing the pack. These straps come with an extra clip to fasten the straps in place on your backpack shoulder strap. I had a little confusion at first about how best to orient the clip in the strap webbing. After some experimentation, I settled on the having the clip "within" the loop of webbing that circles around the backpack shoulder strap. This comment will make sense when you have the strap and your backpack in front of you, during installation While any "after market" strap is not going to be as good looking and integrated as what you would have on a backpack that provided their custom sternum straps, these straps are an excellent solution - and you get two high quality straps for the price of one.

Good design with plenty of adjustment and ease of use.Strap clips only work on thinner backpack straps so we are looking for a way to keep the chest strap in place.

Of the various makes of chest-strap available on Amazon at the time I searched, this was the only one equipped with a means of preventing the strap halves (crocodile clips) from slipping out of position on the rucksack shoulder-straps - a real annoyance that reviewers of other makes complain about time and again. The clips provided do indeed solve the problem and are easy and quick to affix and release. In the past I've bought chest-straps whose buckle was incapable of coping with even a moderately heavy rucksack. Not foreseebly an issue in the case of these. The male portion 's prongs have deep notches that ensure the buckle remains fast under load, but requires less finger pressure to release than some other makes I've used, which is pleasing. The female portion's sleeve, though, as per those other makes, is understrength and can be predicted to disintegrate under a heavy load. However, that can be prevented by tightly binding a few inches of non-stretch, heavy-duty self-adhesive tape (e.g. Gorilla black tape) around the sleeve before first use.The adjusters are standard type and the strap webbing medium-grade - neither too flimsy nor too thick to make adjusting troublesome. The maximun length of the strap, when fastened, would likely be insufficent for XXL wearers, but there'd be no problem fitting any of the components to a longer alternative strap of the same width and grade if needed. All in all, I'm pretty confident these will serve me well.
Good product. Package arrived on time 👍

I have been using this sternum strap and replaced it with a fidlock buckle. The design of the sternum strap is versatile allowing you to swap out with a buckle of your choice. It is not sewed onto the existing buckle which is a design that is apparent on many other straps. There is also a clip that is on the strap that allows you to clamp onto your bag, but I have noticed that it would come loose over time. Depending on how you tie the strap onto your bag, if the clip comes off, the strap will still stay on but slide to the bottom of the bag. This happened twice already but thankfully, it did not completely fall off. The clip needs to be stronger but apart from that, the strap itself is durable. I have been using it for 2 months and it still looks brand new. When it does work, it definitely helps relief pressure off my shoulders.

I could not open the plastic clips and actually injured my finger in trying to do it that way. So I had to take a knife, insert it and twist and even then it was hard to open. Do you think it could be made on a spring or something so that it is not inoperable using the fingers? I could only open one and will use that and leave the other backpack strap without a clip. Honestly, very poor clip design to open.

I put this strap on a North Face Base Camp Duffel, and with some fiddling it works great so that the straps don't keep slipping off my shoulders. Other sternum straps don't clip on the way these do, so this product was perfect.

I have a backpack that I’ve been using for the past two years and I absolutely love it because it has a lot of pockets and it is very functional for my every day life however when it comes to support, that’s where it is lacking. On most days I spend almost an hour walking with my backpack on and it was getting to the point where my shoulders and back we’re starting to feel uncomfortable. I knew I either had to order a new backpack that had a chest straps for support (which I didn’t want to order a new backpack because I love the one that I am currently using) or order chest straps that I can connect to my backpack. These straps are great, they can be a little tricky putting on but once you put them on they add just the right mount of support. I love that I can continue to use the same backpack that I’ve been using for the past two years and now have the proper support for my shoulders and back. Win win all around!
