As soon as I opened the box I was impressed by the pole handle tubes. these are very sturdy, well designed tubes for a 20 foot handle. I do not have any worries these tools will hold up to the job, I would hate to tell you how much we paid last year for two young men to take the snow off our roof, but I am hoping this excellent tool will spare us those expenses in the future.As I said, the tubing for the handle is a very sturdy aluminum, which means while it is very light it is also very strong. The total weight is a bit over 7 pounds. The design of this erake slices through the snow while leaving a plastic barrier underneat for the snow to slide down. Very efficient and since gravity pulls the snow off, your back is saved most of the work. There are two types of poles here- the long extenders, and the short joiners. I like this design because it distrubtes the weight and force more towards the short, less likely to bend shorter poles. Assembly is as easy as sliding on and pushing down the button locks until it clicks locked.The snow slicer is equally well designed. It cuts through the snow and leaves a plastic 14-foot slide behind it. Once the snow is over the slide, gravity does the rest. One function of this design I really like is that a person can work on different sides of the roof easily, so the distribution of the snows weight does not end up all on one side of the roof, thus avoiding damage. There is a 2nd tube behind the rake to strengthen it as well. The wheels underneath the rake are 3 inches and rubber, so there will be no scraping under the weight that can later on lead to rust for metal roofs or getting stuck on asphalt shingles. And since this entire snow rake is aluminum, rubber and plastic, no rusting, which will mean years of undamaged usage.I am very impressed with the design and manufacture of this product. They seem to have thought of everything. Assembly and disassembly of and the storage can be done in a matter of minutes. The tool has been designed with the needed strength for even heavy snow, and because the pole is sufficiently long, safety from falling snow is built-in. I give this product a solid 5 stars.
