This tool was purchased to fill the gap between my 3/8 detail gouges and fill sized 5/8 gouges. I really like it!! Fairly quickly put a swept back grind on it and is now perfect for me. Good steel, handle is ok for a smaller gouge. Recommended for the medium/advanced turner.

Good price for good tool. Seems that quality is superb and for the price can't beat it. Full sized handle for control.

The gauge has a very sharp angle which I had hoped would let me get into some tight spots without problem. It works fine but I can't get it sharp enough to work properly. It appears razor sharp but doesn't cut that way. That forces you to use more force than what is necessary. I have two gauges that are cut the same way and both have the same problem. When I figure it out, I will let you know the solution.
