These folding pocket chisels are a great idea, made decently but some of the edges are all chipped and rolled, and obviously dull. The biggest issue is that they aren’t square and the steel is very very soft. The painters tool, puddy knife and sharpener are glued into the plastic handles so I doubt they last very long under duress. I’m not sure if I’ll return them or not or just repair them myself.

I was so excited when I discovered these pocket tools exsist and the set seemed to be a good deal. The concept is brilliant for jobsite work tools - compact, lightweight, built-in protection, and color coded. There are problems with the execution of manufacture that are disappointing, especially for the cost. Some of these issues may seem like nit picks but bear with me. First, the blow molded storage case is too large for field use and these are not good shop chisels, so I'm having to find a separate storage box for inclusion with my tool bags. Second, the wood rasp is a joke - not fully covered with teeth and would be better if convex instead of flat. Third, the folding handles have inconsistant action opening and closing and seem to use pressed roll pins for the hinges instead of machine screws. Adding gear teeth to the molding might help with the action, plus being able to adjust the hinge tension. Lastly, and most importantly, the chisels are very poorly ground and this is hidden by the thick black teflon coating. The front bevel is out of square to the body and has very course abrasion marks, so extensive honing is required to create a square and smooth main bevel that can then hold a good edge. I have spent hours doing so, though I only have one fully functioning arm, so time spent will vary. Basically, if I didn't have the need for the clever and compact design and the means to true the chisels, I would have returned this product. I do feel that the price is too high versus the quality. Irwin and DeWalt are copying the idea but only with a 1" chisel, and I image the manufacture is better. The Irwin version is only $16 and has built-in strike caps and a sort of locking action for the handle when open. So there you go. Hope this helps.

Love this set. It is a must buy for carpenters. It's compact, keeps cutting edge sharp longer, safer, and can handle the strikes of the hammer.

First off, these chisels are a great idea… that’s where the pros end. These are terribly made! They don’t close properly, and are horrendously “sharpened” from the factory.Once properly sharpened at home I used them a couple times and I can’t even describe the quality of the steel in these. Two of them where unusably dull after mortising three hinges and a lockset on a pine door! The 1/4” one was dull after removing a few plastic tabs on the inside of a tool box.I have no idea how these things have such good reviews. I don’t know what these would possibly be useful for, maybe carving styrofoam? I have a chisel that I got from Canadian Tire for $4 that holds an edge better than these.Absolute garbage.

Received my set today super excited to utilize it. Opened the box and either these chisels are used or they were made on a Friday evening before a long weekend and it was the last one of the shift or someone had used then. The tips had little chips out of the end so either someone was testing them or they were just not made right. I have to say maybe if they were in good shape I would of kept them but returned them.

These are awesome, I love them. You can fold them up and put them in your pouch and don't have to worry about them getting beat up or cutting yourself. Mine arrived sharp and ready to use. I also like to keep the painters tool with me for general scraping and cleaning. Would definitely buy them again.

I had a gift certificate so I bought a couple of these chisels. They worked so much better than I expected. I bought this set as a gift, but completed my own set too. The chisels are hardened and the handles are comfortable to hold. As the handles fold to protect the chisel itself, it then easily fits in my tool belt. The putty knife and painters tool are just an added bonus.
