Ordered these: 2PCS 2" Loud Bear Bell with Whistle Set for Hikers Solid Brass Emergency 3 in 1 Bear Bells - to use up here in NW Montana when hiking in the hills. I even like to attach some kind of bell to my GSP and let her tear through the woods really making the noise. She doesn't appreciate it, makes it hard to sneak up on squirrels when they hear you coming way too soon. The bells are pretty good quality, I like that they have a easy to attach clip. The whistles work and are a cheap easy to include add on. I have a similar whistle on each of my packs shoulder straps.Price wise they are not a bad deal, I can see lots of sellers offering perhaps the same product so shop around and look for who has them on sale when you go to order. I used some lock tight on the screws holding the striker in place and hoping that will keep them in place. Lots of users indicate that is the weak point on the product, so I checked mine, otherwise would not have known and might have lost the center striker.

A good, clear warning.

Got these for my daughter who's spending the summer in Alaska. She used them for her first hikes and said they did great. They make a simple ringing to let the bears know someone - or something - else is in the area. The thinking is that bears are natural avoiders by nature and will keep away from the noise if they can help it. They're light. Well made. The whistles are a nice touch as well and, yes, those went to Alaska too. Happy with these.

Seeing a bear in the area where I live used to be a very rare occurrence. Now it happens frequently and they come into our yard and sometimes onto the deck. They are generally not considered dangerous but it is best not to surprise them. Thus, I ordered these bear bells. They come as a set of two and I leave one by the front door and one in my car. For hiking on neighborhood trails, I attach one to my pack or belt loop. I use the one in my car for when I get home from work after dark in case there is a bear in the yard behind the house. The bells are made with a good quality brass and, while heavier than I expected, are light enough to not be a burdensome weight. They make a pleasant and effective jingle without being obnoxiously loud. The whistle is lighter in weight, easy to blow quickly, and is very loud. Each unit comes with the bell and whistle attached with a thin overlap ring, a thick overlap ring, a carabiner, and a short leather loop. This configuration makes it easy to adapt to a number of different carrying options and the materials are sturdy. I have used various kinds of bear bells over the years even before bear sightings became frequent where I live. I really think these bells are probably the best. The quality is definitely there and the versatility for how to attach and carry is also better than others I have used. I also think that maybe because of their design these bells are less likely to get accidently lost or left behind. For their quality, functionality, and versatility, I think this set of bear bells and whistles is a good value.

These bear bells are surprisingly loud. I've used them on a few hikes now, and they definitely announce your presence. The sound isn't annoyingly shrill, more of a deep, resonant clang that carries pretty well through the woods. I especially appreciated having two, one for my pack and one for my belt, to maximize the sound radius. The brass seems durable, and the bells themselves are nicely made; no cheap plastic here. They’re compact, and haven’t added any significant weight to my gear.

I ordered the Ouffun Store 2PCS 2" Loud Bear Bell with Whistle Set for Hikers Solid Brass Emergency 3 in 1 Bear Bells for Hiking Outdoor Camping Bear Protection Products for Survival Biking Fishing Climbing Self Defense Gear.I bought these to use while hiking, cycling, and camping. The whistles, of course, can be used anywhere when in distress. The bells will be very useful when cycling or hiking or camping in bear or mountain lion country. The bells are good for attaching to your bike or to your backpack so that they're always jingling when you're in dangerous areas and that's what keeps the predators away.I tested both whistles and they are very loud and very easy to blow on to get the high volume. I tested both bells and they both have a very good loud ring to them.Warning! I read reviews of identical products being sold by other manufacturers and in one of the reviews one of the customers noticed that they lost the Clapper on one of their bells, that are identical to thes bells, without knowing it. That reviewer mentioned that the clappers are screwed in and the screw must have come loose. So I have used a screwdriver to tighten up the screws in both of my bells. The clappers on my bells weren't very loose and they were not likely to fall out anytime soon, but they were not tightened down as tight as they could be. And, just as a precaution, as soon as I finish unpacking at my new house and find my glues, I'm going to drop a drop or two of glue around the screw in each of the two bills just to make sure that it doesn't come unscrewed at some point in the future. The screw inside the Bell screws into the loop on the outside of the Bell where the lanyard is attached and it could be that on that reviewers bell the bell slowly turned while it was attached to the lanyard. No stars deducted. This is a really nice Bell and whistle set with a very good quality sound to each but the price is much higher than some of the competitors where you can get four bells and four whistles for the same price. There is a 20% coupon available at the time of my writing of this review which brings the price down slightly. 1 star deducted for price.Overall, 4 stars from me.
