I have a hard time punching through my leather with these, but that may just be because of the material I have or user error. Otherwise, it's easy to understand how to use and put together. Decent little kit!

Growing up I remember my Dad using a punch all the time, he always had one in his toolbox for work. I know of these for ages, but never thought I needed one. Now that I have one, I can't go back to not having one. It is very handy and these work pretty good. I used them on some aluminum angle strips and it worked perfect. I've even tried them on wood and helps a little when I can't already use my self-centering drill bits (which I also recommend). These are a good value for the price.

This is a great value for center punches! Not only do you get two, but you also get two additional pins, which is the only thing that wears on these types of punches. You can screw the top to adjust the force when punching the item. These are handy for keeping a drill where you want a hole to start. Very easy to use and seems to be good quality. These should last me a long time (if I can remember where I put the extra pins!)

If you’ve ever had a drill bit “walk” on you you’ll love this tool. Measure three times and punch then drill pretty straight forward operation. If I’m drilling into steel I give it a couple pushes to get a nice drill start point and single for aluminum. Nice resistance but easy enough to push. Nice compact design that been around for years because it simply works. It seems solid and I expect to get years of use out of it.

This 2 pack is great for anyone who does metal or woodworking. They were able to make an indent in steel and are very well built. Each piece has a nice heft feel to them with nice machining all around on the brass. Easy to use as they should be, just an all around good option for this device. The included extra tips is a nice touch. Tip replacement is also simple and straightforward.

These center punch tools are very well built and super handy to have on the tool box. I actually thought they worked like a spring loaded ink pen and so I was initially discouraged when I learned that the probe does not actually retract fully into the body. However, I then did a little research and discovered how these center punches are supposed to be used and how they work. The design is very old and kind of surprising. Simple and yet sophisticated. If you don’t know, the point of the probe is placed where you want to make the center mark and then it is pressed down. As it retracts into the body it finally reaches a point at which the spring in the upper chamber triggers, causing the probe to be quickly forced down and leaving a small but distinct divot. It is not as forceful as I expected, but the divot is absolutely sufficient to start a drill bit.

The Yuioase Automatic Center Punch,5'' Spring Loaded Center Punch, Heavy Duty Steel Adjustable Center Marker Punch Tool (2-pack) is an excellent marking tool; especially when using hand drills. It creates a small pilot divot that prevents drill bits from sliding and walking when starting into materials. It adjusts easy by twisting the top and bottom of the tool body to compress or de-compress the load on the internal spring allowing you to mark materials of different hardness as needed. The set of punches comes with two extra tips. These are strong and durable tools capable of providing many years of dependable service. I keep one in my portable drill box and one on my workbench and use them frequently. I'm very satisfied with the quality and performance of the 5" Yuioase Automatic Center Punch and consider them an excellent value!

Notes;1) The quality and finish of both punches is very good. Neither punch had any flaws, rust or corrosion. The machining is crisp and well-executed. The punches seem very sturdy. I disassembled one, and the internal finish looked good too. These should last a long time.2) The punch marks made by these punches are very accurate. It’s easy to locate the mark very accurately.3) On structural steel, these punches only leave a very light mark, even when adjusted to their maximum punching force. I wish they had a stiffer spring or a heavier anvil to give them a harder strike. On sheet metal or wood, these are more than adequate.4) Much more convenient than a regular center punch. I’ve been meaning to get an automatic center punch for years and finally got around to it.5) Great price. These two center punches are priced lower than one equivalent-quality center punch at my local big-box hardware store.Overall: Highly recommended in spite of the light punch marks. You can always trigger the tool several times on the same spot to deepen the mark.
