After tearing apart the wiring on my instrument several times, I couldn't get rid of the static until I replaced this jack with better quality jack. When the cable plug was rotated in this jack, you would get all sorts of snap crackle and pop. I the problems went away when I bought and installed a replacement from the Guitar Center.

The connector from the cable doesn’t sit in the jack correctly. I had to forcibly hold the connector in as far as I could to keep a constant sound.
