i like this bit holder way better than my old i have been using for the longest timemy old bit holder was the same collar type, it clicked down to hold the bit and then you pulled it up to get the bit to release, it worked fine with the longer bits that have the rounded area down towards the shank end of the bit, but with short bits (which i probably have over a hundred) it wouldn't work, the short bits sat almost all the way down in the bit holder (see pic) and the mechanical collar didn't hold them at all anywaysthis new bit holder works great with both shorter and longer bits, now i can use all the short bits i have and don't have to try and find the least rounded long one i have to useyou just push the bit into the collar all the way and it is locked in, to get them out simply push the collar down and it sort of "ejects" the bit but not so much that it falls out onto the floorthe magnetism does work better with short bits than the longer bits, guess the magnetism can't quite travel all the way to the end of the longer bitsthis is definitely an improvement over my old holder, very happy with it

I have been using these quick change, magnetic, bit holders for about a week now and I am very happy with them. The magnets are pretty strong and I haven’t had a bit follow out. There’s also a detent inside that holds the bit securely in place. As is common, the bit holder is ‘spring loaded’ and pulling back on the bit holder releases the bit (refer to video). The machining is really nice and I Iike the color of the bit – makes it easy to find in the mess of bits and holders I have. My only ‘criticism’ and it is less of critique and more so just to let the buyer know that the bit holder is a bit (bad pun) wider than I’m used to with some other brands. I did find this slightly wider diameter to be nice though when I had to hold the bit holder to guide/drive in screws that needed a steady hand. So, it would come to personal preference. All in all 4 out of 5 stars and at this price point, as of this writing is $6.99, a great deal for 2 bits. I hope this review is helpful to you.

These magnetic extensions are really handy , I added them to my 1/4”hex drive set. They look like good quality , nice finish . I have not had a chance to use them yet but I’m sure they will work fine.

Great bit holders. I can never have enough of these around. These are at a fair price and do a nice job, don’t feel as heavy as the moreexpensive units but I have never broken one. Long term durability we will see, if I don’t lose them first.

Very nice magnetic quick change bit holders. These work well and are easy to use. The quality seems good so far. The fit is good in my tools. I think these are fair value for the money.

Gave this to my GC who uses it constantly now. Bright blue color makes it way easier to find in his tool bag. Magnet is pretty strong, used it primarily for wall-hung closet assembly. Got the 4" version which helps with harder to reach angles in the odd closet.
