I use this everyday at work, I'm a fabricator so I'm punching 3/4" plates and beams all day. The top dents and will eventually mushroom while the tip stays pointed. I've used several other center punches but they're all 1/2" x 6" and I don't like how small (in diameter) they are.Update: it's been over a year and it's holding up well, I've sharpened it a couple times for a better point but it hasn't lost it's hardness.
